Kyle Chrisley's Tumultuous Journey: From Reality TV to Legal Battles

Kyle Chrisley has experienced a variety of challenges and successes throughout his life.

Kyle’s well-known family – encompassing stepmother Julie Chrisley, who father Todd Chrisley married in 1996, and half-brothers Chase Chrisley, Savannah Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley – achieved prominence with their reality television program, Chrisley Knows Best, which first aired on USA Network in 2014. Though Todd and Julie, with their three youngest children, were central figures on the documentary series, Kyle was frequently not present due to ongoing familial conflicts. In 2013, Todd and Julie were granted guardianship of Kyle’s daughter, Chloe, following his arrest on assault charges.

As Chloe was raised by her paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles, Kyle ultimately repaired his relationship with his family after a hospitalization stemming from a suicide attempt in 2019.

Kyle, who wed wife Ashleigh Nelson in April 2021, garnered media attention almost two years later when he was taken into custody and accused of aggravated assault. Us reported in March 2023 that the former reality TV personality was processed by the Smyrna Police Department in Tennessee, and subsequently freed after posting a $3,000 bond.
