Kylie Jenner Shows Support for Jordyn Woods' Engagement After Reconciliation
Kylie Jenner expressed her delight upon learning that her former close friend, Jordyn Woods, is engaged.
“Jordyyyyyyy 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺,” Jenner, 28, wrote via Instagram comment on Thursday, December 26, shortly after Woods, 28, confirmed her engagement.
Several hours earlier, Woods announced via social media that boyfriend Karl-Anthony Towns proposed after five years together.
“Merry Christmas 🎄❤️💍,” Woods wrote, sharing engagement photos.
Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns’ Relationship Timeline
Towns, 30, proposed to Woods on a balcony overlooking the New York City skyline with their family members present.
“The most deserving woman,” Woods’ sister, Jodie, later commented on Thursday. “So proud of both of you. This is EVERYTHING.”
Jenner, for her part, also “liked” the announcement post.
Woods began dating Towns, who currently plays basketball for the New York Knicks, in 2020 during her estrangement from Jenner.
The two women’s friendship fractured in 2019 after Woods was seen kissing Tristan Thompson, who was in a relationship with Jenner’s sister Khloé Kardashian at the time. (Kardashian, 41, and Thompson, 30, ended their relationship in 2021 after welcoming two children together.)
“I love [Kylie]. She’s my friend,” Woods told Cosmopolitan UK later that year, while referencing a separation. “I hope everything works out and that we can all mature and strengthen our relationships with our family and God and reconnect one day and be stronger and happier.”
Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods’ Friendship Through the Years
The model added, “Many people can be around when things are good, but you don’t know who’s truly there when things are difficult. … We were just all young people, and you know how it is — everyone’s friends, everyone’s around, and you simply build connections.”
The following year, Woods alluded to her personal development since the controversy.
“I believe life is about constantly evolving and consistently growing and becoming the best version of yourself,” she said on the “Behind Closed Doors” podcast in 2020. “And as long as you’re stable and the people around you are stable and everyone has good intentions and everyone’s genuine, there’s not really an issue. I enjoy meeting new people and, you know, I appreciate people.”
Woods further explained why she didn’t harbor any regrets about what transpired.
“I think that you can’t let life diminish you and you can’t let things happen to you, or whatever, you know what goes on in life, change who you are for the worse,” Woods said at the time. “You have to consistently become better and evolve and everything is a learning experience. [I am] very pleased with the people I have in my life and that’s just life. Everything comes back around too.”
Inside Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods’ Friendship, Recent Reunion
Jenner and Woods reconciled three years later when they were spotted at a joint dinner in July 2023.
“Kylie was the one who initiated contact with Jordyn,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly. “She missed her and felt that enough time had passed and they wanted to get together.”
According to the insider, Kardashian had given her blessing to the meeting.
“Khloé is all about forgiveness and moving forward,” the source said. “Khloé is fine with Kylie seeing [Jordyn].”
A second insider, meanwhile, emphasized to Us that Jenner and Woods’ friendship was still “a work in progress.”
Earlier this year, the duo were seen together at a Knicks game, celebrating the team’s victory over the Boston Celtics. Jenner is dating Knicks enthusiast Timothée Chalamet and has frequently attended games with him.
