Lifestyle figure McKenna Barry is processing an unexpected miscarriage following an extended period of trying to start a family.
On Sunday, December 14, McKenna announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Bryan Barry, had suffered the loss of their unborn child. "Our world fell apart last night when our baby chose not to join us at this time," she posted alongside an image of a Christmas tree. "Words cannot capture the intensity of the sorrow we are experiencing, but I don't regret allowing ourselves to feel profound happiness this past month, as our grief reflects that joy."
"Our baby was cherished and deeply desired for every moment of their existence," she continued in the post. "We will always hold dear this brief time when we were granted the opportunity to be his or her mommy and daddy."
McKenna then addressed her unborn child directly in a poignant message: "To our baby: You were the smallest thing I’ve ever seen, but the void you created is endless. We will miss you—miss imagining a future with you. I apologize that I never got to hold you, but I find peace in knowing Jesus will hold you as you wait for us in Heaven."

"I will be stepping away from social media temporarily to focus on Brian as we mourn this little life," she concluded.
McKenna had previously posted a video on Instagram documenting the moment she learned she was pregnant on December 3. "A bit of context: I had taken two strip tests the previous day, and the line was extremely faint, so I had a suspicion, but I didn't let myself fully accept it until I took a digital test and saw the word 'pregnant'," she captioned the clip.
"This moment was incredibly precious to me. I was the sole person in the world who knew. Just me and Jesus. I felt (and still feel) profoundly grateful at that moment," she added. "So many emotions washed over me (as you can see on my face). My entire body went cold when I first saw 'pregnant,' in the most positive sense. I felt physically shocked as I realized this was FINALLY happening for us after 6 1/2 years of waiting."
The day prior to that, the lifestyle figure shared a video documenting the day she revealed the pregnancy to Brian. In the clip, the couple is shown decorating a Christmas tree when Brian removes an ornament from a box, discovering the message. "What?" he questions as McKenna confirms with a nod. "Are you serious?" A tearful McKenna and Brian then hug.
