Lisa Vanderpump Responds to Brittany Cartwright's Claims of No Contact

Lisa Vanderpump has a direct response for Brittany Cartwright, asserting to Us Weekly exclusively that communication is a two-way street, especially after The Valley personality commented that her previous employer had not reached out during her divorce from Jax Taylor.

“I recently encountered Brittany, and she mentioned my lack of contact, but considering I manage hundreds of employees and am constantly traveling between Vegas, [Los Angeles], Arizona, London, and other locations, my expectation is that she could also initiate contact. I am consistently accessible,” Vanderpump, 65, explained to Us during an event for Vanderpump Rules season 12 at her West Hollywood establishment, SUR, on Thursday, November 21.

The pair crossed paths at BravoCon earlier in the month — however, this meeting occurred prior to LVP becoming aware of Cartwright’s recent media statements. “My interaction with her was as cordial as ever. Yet, I was unaware she had made disparaging comments about me, so perhaps those remarks were made just before our encounter. That clarifies things,” Vanderpump shared with Us. “My greeting was standard. ‘How are you?’ I’m always pleased to see them. I had no idea she had been speaking negatively. It’s truly disappointing, very disappointing.”

At the three-day gathering, Cartwright, 36, conveyed to Decider, “[Lisa] has not reached out to me since my divorce, nor since my son received his autism diagnosis, nor for any other significant event. Consequently, I haven't received any communication from her in a very long time.”

Additional Insights from Us Weekly's Comprehensive Discussion with Brittany Cartwright

Cartwright wed Taylor, 46, who was Vanderpump Rules’ initial rebellious bartender, in 2019. Their televised nuptials on Bravo were held at The Kentucky Castle, with Lance Bass serving as the officiant.

Cartwright initiated divorce proceedings on August 27, 2024, listing irreconcilable differences as the reason. The former couple co-parent their son, Cruz, 4, for whom she has sole custody. He received an autism diagnosis in 2024.

During 2020, Taylor and Cartwright declared their departure from Vanderpump Rules. They then became part of Bravo’s companion series, The Valley, for its inaugural season in 2024. Following two thriving seasons, Taylor disclosed he would not return after his journey of recovery from substance abuse.

Nevertheless, Vanderpump harbors no animosity towards any of her past SUR employees, conveying to Us her pleasure that former Pump Rules personalities Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz have signed on for The Valley’s upcoming third season as full-time cast members.

“I believe it’s excellent. They are, indeed, compelling reality television figures and quite candid,” she stated. “I feel Lala has excelled remarkably in her role as a mother. She is genuinely, truly wonderful, and certainly faced significant challenges. As for Schwartzy, I simply adore him. I imagine many share that sentiment. Fundamentally, you begin by having affection for all of them. Subsequently, however, situations occasionally become more intricate, but I have consistently been quite transparent regarding my sentiments.”

Though she will forever cherish the inaugural Vanderpump Rules cast, the business-savvy matriarch is now focusing her attention on the fresh set of reality stars.

Following 11 triumphant seasons and the fallout from Tom Sandoval’s scandalous infidelity with Raquel Leviss, betraying Ariana Madix (an event famously named Scandoval), Bravo revealed that the popular reality television program was slated for a refresh.

The forthcoming season 12 will showcase current SUR personnel, including Venus Binkley, Jason Cohen, Shayne Davis, Chris Hahn, Angelica Jensen, Marcus Johnson, Audrey Lingle, Natalie Maguire, Demy Selem, and Kim Suarez, guaranteeing a level of drama comparable to — or exceeding — its predecessor.

Brittany Cartwright Asserts 'No Animosity' Even Though Stassi Hasn't Contacted Her

“They are charming, enthusiastic, driven, and actively employed here,” Vanderpump shared with Us regarding the refreshed ensemble. “The focus is on the restaurant industry and their personal journeys, alongside their professional interactions, which I believe forms an excellent core. Their mandatory presence together naturally propels the narrative.”

Vanderpump further conceded that she is aware of critical comments made by certain past associates, though three individuals specifically have voiced their backing for the renewed series.

“Lala expressed her intention to be supportive. Stassi [Schroeder Clark], with whom I collaborate on Vanderpump Villa presently, is eagerly anticipating its viewing. Schwartz is also on board, but the others are not,” she disclosed. “I have encountered some unfavorable feedback, but I believe a key aspect of participating in reality television for an extended period is learning to disregard some of the adverse or unpleasant remarks made.”

The twelfth season of Vanderpump Rules premieres on December 2 at 9 p.m. on Bravo, available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
