Lochte Eviction Scare Averted Amidst Divorced Daughter and Debt Claims
Renowned swimmer Ryan Lochte reached an agreement with his property owner, preventing his eviction from his Florida residence as his contentious divorce proceeds, a scoop exclusively obtained by Us Weekly.
This past Wednesday, September 3, the 41-year-old Lochte and his landlord notified the judiciary of their resolution. According to the terms, the Olympian is slated to remit a sum of $7,059, encompassing outstanding rental payments and various charges, including September's rent totaling $6,100.
A preliminary payment of $3,959.25 was scheduled for Friday, September 5, with the remaining balance to be settled subsequently. Lochte committed to maintaining punctuality with his rent for the duration of his current tenancy, which concludes in February 2026.
The former Olympian consented to move out of the dwelling unless he secures a renewed lease agreement. Should he fail to remit the outstanding charges, the landlord reserves the right to claim supplementary rent, tardy penalties, and an additional $690 in administrative costs.
The property owner initiated legal proceedings on August 19, seeking Lochte's removal from the premises. Lochte had leased the four-bedroom, three-bathroom, 1,936 square foot residence in Newberry, Florida, starting in May, for a monthly rate of $3,000.
The legal complaint alleged that Lochte had neglected to pay August's rent and sought repossession of the property. Days thereafter, Lochte submitted a handwritten message to the court, stating, “I was away on a business trip. Upon my return, I found an eviction notice on my door. Therefore, I am settling the rent. Thank you. Ryan Lochte.”

As initially disclosed by Us, Ryan’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Kayla Lochte, presented startling accusations in their ongoing divorce case on August 21. Kayla sought exclusive parental rights for their three children — Caiden, 8, Liv, 6, and Georgia, 2 — citing Ryan’s purported struggles with substance abuse.
“Joint parental responsibility would be harmful to the children as [Ryan] has a history of substance misuse and, based on available information, is reportedly still misusing illicit controlled substances,” Kayla asserted in court. She alleged discovering empty cocaine baggies throughout their residence (left by Ryan), even within their children's sleeping quarters.
Moreover, Kayla claimed to have witnessed Ryan inhaling nitrous oxide in the garage, in the presence of one of their offspring. She additionally stated he operated a vehicle with the children while under the influence and did not pass two recent drug screenings.
In his communication with Us, Ryan acknowledged drug use within the household but refuted allegations of ever consuming them near his children. He also disputed driving his children while impaired and declared a sobriety period exceeding 50 days.

Ryan informed Us that he entered a “depressive spiral” following a 2023 automobile collision, which resulted in a fractured leg.
“While I do not dispute using substances within my residence, I staunchly deny ever using drugs in the presence or vicinity of my children, and I have never transported them while intoxicated,” Ryan conveyed to Us. “I have gone to great lengths to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of these divorce proceedings, not for my own sake, but to shield my children from baseless accusations that could cause them distress. Regrettably, despite my endeavors, my former wife opted to publicize this issue, fully aware that I was already undergoing an intensive rehabilitation program.”

“Everyone makes errors throughout their lives. Our identity is shaped not by these missteps, but by the lessons we glean and the effort we invest in surmounting them. I sincerely regret any pain or disappointment I may have caused,” he further stated. “My current priority is my rehabilitation, striving to be the most exemplary father possible, and progressing in a manner that ensures my children's safety, support, and affection.”
The presiding judge has not yet issued a decision regarding Kayla’s petition.
