Lola Young Reassures Fans After Festival Collapse

Lola Young reassured her supporters that she had recovered following an alarming event that occurred while she was performing at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York.

Reports from various media outlets indicate that the 24-year-old artist, known for her hit “Messy,” collapsed mid-performance of her track “Conceited” at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, on Saturday, September 27. Following the incident, Young was promptly taken backstage for medical care, and she later provided an update on her health to fans through social media.

“Hello to everyone who witnessed my performance at All Things Go today, I am fine,” she posted on her Instagram Story that Saturday. “I appreciate all your well wishes.”

People magazine reported that Young had informed her audience at the New York festival that she had been experiencing “a challenging few days,” having previously withdrawn from Audacy’s We Can Survive concert at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Friday, September 26. (Her manager had clarified on Instagram that the Friday cancellation was “due to a personal matter.”)

Prior to her set's early conclusion, she addressed the All Things Go crowd, stating, “There are moments when life can truly make you feel like giving up, but today, I chose to get up and come here, wanting to be composed … and sometimes, when life presents you with challenges, you simply have to make the best of them.”

It was reported that attendees at the festival received several updates regarding Young’s health from fellow performers later that day. Remi Wolf, a friend of Young’s, took the stage to discuss the alarming nature of the incident.

Wolf, 29, reassured her fans, saying, “That was incredibly frightening. My friend Lola is behind the stage, and she is doing fine.”

Us Weekly has contacted Young’s publicists for their statement.

Young has previously been open about her struggles with physical and mental health, sharing on Instagram how her life transformed following her diagnosis with schizoaffective disorder at 17. (The Mayo Clinic describes this condition as “characterized by a combination of schizophrenia symptoms, including hallucinations and delusions, and mood disorder symptoms, like depression, mania, and a less severe form of mania known as hypomania.”)

In 2022, she wrote, “I am unable to articulate the profound impact this diagnosis has had on my whole existence, and my perception of the world.” She added, “I have faced significant challenges in coming to terms with this aspect of myself, and I am continuously working on it.”

She continued, “I must remind myself that I am an ordinary person, I am human, and like everyone, I am capable of amazing accomplishments; my mental health condition does not characterize me. It is my greatest strength.”

The artist is concluding a remarkable year, during which her single “Messy” held the No. 1 spot on the U.K. Singles Chart for four weeks in late 2024 and later climbed to No. 14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Her third full-length album, I’m Only Fing Myself, dropped on September 19, achieving No. 3 on the U.K. Album Chart the subsequent week.

Her most significant U.S. performance to date took place at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April, followed by a live appearance during the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 7, performing on the “Extended Play Stage” after being introduced by gymnast and influencer Livvy Dunne.

Young is slated to return to her home country, the U.K., for two headlining concerts at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on October 6 and October 7, then continuing with performances in London, Birmingham, and Newcastle later that month. A North American tour is set to commence with two shows at History in Toronto, Canada, on November 1 and 2.
