Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Separate After Nearly 30 Years Together

Lori Loughlin, the actress, and her spouse, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, have decided to part ways after almost three decades together, a development confirmed by Us Weekly.

“They are currently residing separately,” Loughlin's publicist informed Us in a statement issued on Thursday, October 2nd, adding that “no formal divorce proceedings have been initiated.”

Loughlin and Giannulli are parents to two daughters, Isabella Rose, aged 27, and Olivia Jade, aged 26. The couple, now estranged, managed to navigate through the 2019 college admissions controversy and served their individual prison terms prior to their separation this year.

The former Full House star and the clothing brand creator privately married in November 1997, only a few days ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Loughlin — whose previous marriage was to Michael Burns, lasting from 1989 to 1996 — disclosed to Entertainment Tonight in February 2018 that she and Giannulli “discussed having a wedding ceremony” but ultimately chose to “just get up and do it.”

The couple's first child, their daughter Bella, arrived in September 1998. Loughlin and Giannulli grew their family further a year later with the arrival of Olivia Jade. (Giannulli also has a son named Gianni, 34, from his first marriage to Chris Giannulli.)

“He is my companion, he is my individual,” Loughlin expressed regarding Mossimo in February 2018, marking two decades of marriage. She conveyed to Entertainment Tonight then that their relationship's foundation involved “dialogue, active listening, discerning which conflicts to engage in. It requires adaptability, it encompasses all those elements.”

Within a year, their marital bond faced significant strain when both Loughlin and Mossimo were taken into custody concerning their purported role in the university admissions scheme. The duo faced accusations of fabricating their daughters' inclusion on the rowing team and providing a payment of $500,000 to secure their enrollment at the University of Southern California.

Loughlin and her husband entered pleas of not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud in April 2019. While the couple awaited the outcome of their case, an insider revealed exclusively to Us Weekly that the controversy was creating tension within their marriage.

“Their daughter Bella is deeply worried about the possibility of their divorce,” an undisclosed source informed Us in September 2019.

Loughlin and Mossimo altered their plea in May 2020, admitting guilt to allegations of wire and mail fraud. Mossimo received a sentence of five months imprisonment, alongside two years of supervised probation and 250 hours of public service. He was granted an early release, three weeks ahead of schedule, in April 2021.

Loughlin, on the other hand, spent two months incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution located in Dublin, California. Her release came in December 2020, after which she commenced her two-year period of supervised release and 100 hours of public service.

The pair were mandated to pay financial penalties totaling $400,000, which they settled by November 2020.

Before their split, the duo had put their expansive Hidden Hills residence in California up for sale with an asking price of $16.5 million. The substantial 11,800-square-foot property became available on the market in February.
