Lori Loughlin Dines with James Tupper Just Before Announcing Separation from Mossimo Giannulli

Just a day before the announcement of her separation from Mossimo Giannulli, Lori Loughlin was seen having an evening meal with James Tupper.

Images acquired by TMZ show the duo — known for their joint appearances in Great American Family's Blessings of Christmas and Fall Into Winter — sharing a dinner at The Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood on Wednesday, October 1.

For their outing, Loughlin, 61, wore denim trousers and a black jacket, accessorizing with a matching black purse. Tupper, 60, opted for a smart-casual ensemble, pairing jeans and a blazer with a white collared shirt.

Once their vehicles arrived for valet service, the two shared an embrace before heading out onto Sunset Boulevard.

“Lori and James are longtime companions and collaborators,” a spokesperson for Loughlin informed Us Weekly regarding their encounter. Us has also sought a statement from Tupper’s representative.

This amicable dinner occurred only a day prior to the revelation that Loughlin and Giannulli, 62, had parted ways following almost 28 years of matrimony.

“They are currently residing separately,” Loughlin’s representative confirmed to Us in a statement issued on Thursday, October 2, adding, “No official legal actions are being pursued.”

Loughlin and Giannulli — who privately married in November 1997, mere days before Thanksgiving — are parents to two daughters, Isabella Rose, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26.

The now-separated couple had previously navigated the 2019 college admissions scandal and served their individual prison terms before deciding to end their relationship this year.

“Each day presents us with new challenges. However, for me, it echoes the sentiment of that song, ‘I get knocked down, but I get up again,’” Loughlin shared with FIRST for Women in April 2024. “No one promised an easy life; we all stumble, but the crucial part is to keep going.”

In this infrequent interview, the Full House star expressed that her greatest devotion lies with her family and her offspring.

When prompted to characterize her present self, Loughlin responded with “kind” and “strong.”

“And receptive — open to life, open to new encounters,” she continued. “And I am thankful. Therefore, I would describe myself as strong, grateful, open, and kind.”

Tupper, too, has navigated periods of triumph and adversity in his public life.

While he has achieved notable success in Hollywood through his performances in Big Little Lies, Revenge, and other ventures, he has also coped with profound loss.

Tupper maintained a committed relationship with Anne Heche between 2007 and 2018. The Donnie Brasco star — who was mother to their son Atlas, 16 — tragically passed away in August 2022 after a vehicle accident in Los Angeles's Mar Vista area.

Following Heche’s passing, Tupper has dedicated himself to being the most supportive father he can be to their son.

“Fatherhood is paramount to me. It's my primary focus,” he exclusively shared with Us during The Hollywood Christmas Parade in December 2024. “I derive immense happiness and satisfaction from observing his development. He possesses so many wonderful qualities, and witnessing him achieve all that — asserting himself and persevering — is truly remarkable.”

Prior to the holiday season, Atlas also spoke fondly of his father, stating, “He genuinely handles everything. There’s no embellishment. He means the world to me … I deeply cherish him.”
