Lori Loughlin's Prenup Could Complicate Divorce From Mossimo Giannulli Amid Separation

Lori Loughlin and her separated husband Mossimo Giannulli executed a prenuptial agreement upon their marriage — but this might not prevent a potential divorce from becoming complicated.

Loughlin, 61, wed fashion designer Giannulli, 62, in 1997, at which time they consented to maintain their assets acquired before marriage as distinct property. (TMZ initially reported this development.)

“He still possesses substantial wealth, and the prenuptial agreement does not work in her favor,” a source exclusively informed Us Weekly. “Lori possesses a kind nature and harbors no desire for revenge.”

According to the informant, both Loughlin and Giannulli have secured legal representation and are “advancing towards divorce proceedings.” (The couple has yet to file legal paperwork, referring to their split as a “separation” in an October 2 statement.)

Lori Loughlin Is 'Heartbroken' Over 'Difficult' Mossimo Giannulli Separation

“They have been residing apart for several months,” the source further elaborated.

The former Full House star and Giannulli have been wed for twenty-seven years.

Neither Loughlin nor Giannulli has publicly commented further on their marital dissolution. Days later, a second insider disclosed to Us that the actress was “deeply upset” by the conclusion of her marriage.

“Those close to Lori and Mossimo have been aware of their struggles throughout the past year,” the second source stated. “This news is not a surprise to their inner circle. It has been a challenging period for Lori. A reconciliation is not expected, there is currently no possibility, and they will ultimately divorce.”

As per the second insider, Loughlin has not begun dating again — although Giannulli has. He was subsequently seen with 32-year-old stylist Hannah Harrison, who denied their relationship was anything beyond professional.

“I believe the timing was unfortunate. I visited the [G/FORE Supply] store unaware that his separation had been announced,” Harrison explained in a statement released on October 3. “I was scheduled to meet him there. … He was introducing me to the staff so I could select clothing [for Giannulli’s G/FORE brand].”

Loughlin and Giannulli are parents to their daughters Bella, 27, and Olivia Jade, 26, who, a third source told Us, were not “taken aback” by their parents' parting.

“They had observed their parents' interactions over the last year and anticipated this outcome,” the third insider remarked on October 10. “It came as no shock to anyone in the family. This alteration feels more like an adaptation than a disruption. Everyone is still adjusting, but it has been a generally smooth transition.”

Loughlin and Giannulli had previously encountered public difficulties in their union. Both were apprehended in 2018 for their alleged involvement in the college admissions scandal, where they were accused of offering illicit payments to secure Bella and Olivia Jade’s enrollment at the University of Southern California.

John Stamos Criticizes Lori Loughlin’s 'Self-Obsessed' Husband Mossimo

While Loughlin and Giannulli initially entered pleas of not guilty to charges of fraud and money laundering conspiracy, they each altered their pleas in 2020. They both admitted guilt to wire and mail fraud and received prison sentences. Giannulli was sentenced to five months with two years of supervised release, and he was released in April 2021.

Loughlin, for her part, completed two months of incarceration and was released in December 2020. They also incurred $400,000 in penalties as part of their sentencing.

Loughlin’s long-standing Full House costar John Stamos, meanwhile, has shared his opinion on the separation and attributed blame to Giannulli for both the breakup and the college scandal.

“I've known her for four decades. You gain insight into people after a few years,” Stamos, 62, commented on the Monday, October 20, episode of the “Good Guys” podcast. “This woman is truly virtuous. I am simply heartbroken for her at this moment.”

Stamos further asserted that Giannulli is a “profound narcissist,” detailing his efforts to support Loughlin through her marriage and the controversy.

“I genuinely endeavored to be there for her during this period and also concerning the college scandal,” Stamos added. “I will not engage in a discussion about her extent of involvement. I am certain she was not deeply involved. She is not deceitful. She is a saint.”
