The romance between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry began online in July 2016, transitioning to a long-distance arrangement when Markle returned to Toronto, leaving Harry in London.
“It was crucial for us to establish our connection privately, away from global scrutiny and media attention,” Markle shared in their December 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan. Harry further noted that his affection for Meghan deepened with each passing interaction. “Despite my initial apprehension, I allowed myself to be vulnerable and see where things would lead,” he confessed.
The Duke also revealed that they ensured they reunited at least every fortnight.
“I believe we truly benefited from having ample opportunities to bond,” he expressed during a November 2017 BBC interview. “That’s ultimately how we navigated the situation successfully.”
