Love Is Blind's Amy and Johnny Tell Fans They Are Not Rushing to Start a Family

The Love Is Blind pair, Amy Cortés and Johnny McIntyre, are not in a rush to grow their family and have a message for anyone frequently inquiring about when they will.

“When people ask if we plan on having kids soon,” Amy, 30, posted via TikTok on Monday, December 8, sharing footage of her and Johnny, 29, looking alarmed and shaking their heads.

Amy, who married Johnny during season 6 of the Netflix dating experiment, further stressed that they are not hurrying toward parenthood.

“May I remind y’all we got married overnight after knowing each other. We’re just trying to live our best DINK lives out here for now,” Amy captioned her upload, using the "Dual Income, No Kids" slang acronym. “It’ll be a beautiful thing once it happens but one thing at a time please and thank you.”

Following Amy and Johnny’s Love Is Blind wedding day, they have faced a barrage of inquiries regarding their family planning and speculation on social media about whether Amy was hiding a baby bump.

“I’m, like, ‘Honey, I’m just built like that,’” Amy explained on a June episode of the “What’s the Reality?” podcast, refuting the frequent pregnancy speculation. “I have scoliosis, my tummy sometimes pokes out, I’m bloated.”

Amy further stated that she and Johnny still have other personal goals they intend to achieve before having children.

“We will announce when it happens and when the time comes, the time comes,” Johnny added during the discussion. “I feel, like, we’ll be as ready as we can be, but we’re both going to be really excited.”

Amy and Johnny have consistently expressed their desire to eventually have children in the future.

“In my perfect world, I would love to [have kids] when I’m in my early thirties, but it just really depends,” Amy shared exclusively with Us Weekly in March 2024. “I feel like we’ve had a beautiful year and we definitely want to continue enjoying activities within our marriage, traveling and just exploring each other and the world together.”

At the time, both Amy and Johnny indicated they hoped to delay starting a family for “three to four years.”

“Whenever the time does come when we’re both like, ‘Hey, we’re ready now,’ that’s what we’re going to shoot for,” Johnny told Us last year, praising their strong communication style. “We try to talk about everything, and we want to make sure that we are not the type of people who just kind of brush things under the rug.”

Amy and Johnny fell in love and became engaged during season 6 of Love Is Blind, having never seen one another before the proposal. They were the only pair from their season to successfully tie the knot and now highlight their relationship milestones via social media.

“Happy 2-year anniversary, Johnny Mac,” Amy wrote via Instagram in May. “Time really has flown by, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re having fun with the love of your life. … I can’t wait to see what year three brings. Every inch of my heart loves your soul, Johnny Mac. Thank you for being the most incredible partner — and here’s to many more memories together.”
