Lukas Gage Vows to Keep Future Romance Private After Public Marriage
Regarding his future romantic endeavors, Lukas Gage intends to maintain a sense of privacy.
“I believe not every aspect of one's life needs to be a public display,” the 30-year-old Gage revealed solely to Us Weekly on September 23, ahead of his forthcoming book, I Wrote This for Attention.
“I feel that certain matters should remain private and intimately yours,” he added. “Indeed, I just believe some elements ought to be revered, and it's fine that I wasn't — I was quite open about my previous relationship. Perhaps for the subsequent one, we'll simply maintain a lower profile.”
Gage had a widely publicized marriage to Chris Appleton following a rapid courtship. The couple became engaged a mere month after their romance rumors first surfaced in February 2023. A few months onward, in April, the erstwhile partners exchanged vows at a ceremony presided over by Kim Kardashian.

Following approximately seven months of matrimony, Appleton initiated divorce proceedings against Gage. The duo finalized their divorce agreement in June 2024.
Gage reflects on his brief union with Appleton — alongside numerous other personal triumphs and struggles — within his fresh memoir I Wrote This for Attention, scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 14.
“The content of the book draws from the numerous diaries I maintained in my youth, where I documented many experiences I never disclosed to anyone else,” he had earlier hinted to Us. “Within these pages, I begin to discuss them, revealing why, at times, it seemed more prudent to keep them hidden.”
Although Gage further emphasized to Us his firm intention to “maintain a more discreet approach in a subsequent marriage,” he expresses no remorse about having openly shared his personal existence — particularly within his memoir, where he finds himself occasionally chuckling at what he also identifies as life's most challenging periods.
“It's essential to [find humor],” he clarified to Us. “I believe that serves as a way to manage stress. Additionally, while some truly wild events unfold, they aren't entirely outlandish — they are relatable. For instance, people can empathize with some of these difficult experiences I've encountered. And I think, frankly, I approached it with a sense of levity.”

He proceeded, “I approach all aspects of my life with modesty, but, truth be told, during that particular period, there was, you see, a phase of experimenting with prescribed medications and receiving incorrect diagnoses. This sometimes brings about a state of manic, hyper-manic activity. And indeed, it was a notably impetuous, tumultuous period. Yet, unexpectedly, once I gained perspective and found the appropriate dosage, and I, well, achieved mental clarity, it became evident why I had made certain choices, and while they weren't ideal, as I previously stated — I have no regrets, as perhaps I wouldn't have reached this understanding otherwise.”
The performer recognizes that seeking amusement in challenging circumstances isn't universally accepted, conveying to Us that he understands “many individuals believed I was jesting or trivializing” arduous predicaments, such as the dissolution of his marriage.
“And naturally, to some extent, I was, don't you think?” he appended. “For instance, one must inject some humor into certain grim occurrences.”
