Despite Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker delivering a stellar performance for NBC's live coverage of the 99th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, a segment of viewers voiced dissatisfaction with the actual proceedings in New York City. Social media platforms were inundated with grievances from critics, asserting that the holiday season's traditional kickoff largely neglected to feature the parade itself.
“Simply broadcast the parade,” an X user implored on Thursday, continuing, “I'd prefer additional commercials over listening to celebrities converse. Display the parade! The broadcast is explicitly named the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, yet in the last 45 minutes, we've witnessed barely two minutes of it.”
