Mahomes Sr. Seeks Court Permission to Attend Son's NFL Games on Probation

Patrick Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., has petitioned the court for authorization to attend his son’s NFL games while still under probation, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm.

The 55-year-old Patrick Sr. specifically sought permission to be present at Patrick Jr.’s home games in Kansas City. He provided a list of several anticipated matchups, mostly on weekends, throughout the NFL season that he desires to see.

The requested game dates spanned from September 12th to December 25th, including Kansas City’s scheduled Christmas Day contest against Denver.

The official documentation indicated that Patrick Sr. would notify the court should he desire to travel to any away games. A submitted status report further specified, “He comprehends the requirement to undergo a urinalysis test after returning from attending every game.”

In a distinct status update, Patrick Sr. received approval to journey to Kansas in August to spend time with Patrick and his relatives, in connection with “the release of a documentary about Patrick.”

Patrick Sr. is obligated to report to the court as a condition of his probation, stemming from a 2024 arrest for his third or subsequent charge of driving while intoxicated. TMZ previously reported a DWI arrest for Patrick Sr. in 2019, which resulted in a 40-day jail sentence.

Legal documents showed that Patrick Sr. admitted guilt to a felony charge of driving under the influence in August 2024. His sentence included five years of probation, along with a requirement to complete 160 hours of community service. Furthermore, Patrick Sr. was directed to attend a DWI education program and faced a temporary suspension of his driving privileges. The presiding judge cautioned that any breach of the agreement’s conditions could lead to a prison term of up to 10 years for Patrick Sr.

At that juncture, an attorney representing the NFL player’s father stated, “Our client is currently maintaining sobriety, and we are confident that the proactive measures he has taken to improve his life were instrumental in securing a plea agreement recommending probation.”

Earlier in February, the District Attorney and other judicial representatives had requested that Patrick Sr. be mandated to use an extra portable alcohol monitoring device. They sought a court order for Patrick Sr. to wear a SCRAM bracelet, designed to detect the presence of alcohol in an individual’s system.

In August, the 30-year-old Patrick Jr. commented on his father’s 2024 arrest just days before his own appearance in the Super Bowl. He conveyed that the event caused him “pain.”
