Mandy Teefey Celebrates Daughter Selena Gomez's Fairy Tale Wedding to Benny Blanco
Mandy Teefey beamed with pride as the esteemed mother of the bride when her eldest daughter, Selena Gomez, exchanged vows with Benny Blanco.
“A love for every Sunday,” Teefey, 49, conveyed via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, September 28, as she reposted Gomez’s official wedding portraits.
Teefey chose Louis Armstrong’s rendition of “La Vie En Rose” as the soundtrack for her post, a timeless romantic melody previously featured in Gomez’s 2011 film Monte Carlo.
Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, celebrated their nuptials on Saturday, September 27, subsequently announcing the news across social media platforms hours later. The Only Murders in the Building star showcased breathtaking photographs captured by Petra Collins, revealing her in a bespoke Ralph Lauren halter bridal gown. Blanco, for his part, opted for a sophisticated classic black tuxedo.

In a subsequent Instagram update, Teefey described the celebration as nothing short of a “fairy tale.”
“What an impeccable celebration for the most dynamic duo I know! The evening was truly beyond beautiful and perfect,” she penned on Sunday. “Absolutely flawless! All my affection to my wonderful daughter @selenagomez and to the most incredible son-in-law @itsbennyblanco!!! It was a true fairy tale brought to life, and watching my father escort her down the aisle was profoundly heartwarming!!!”
An exclusive source revealed to Us Weekly that the wedding was also graced by a notable assembly of celebrities.
“It is set to be a grand, A-list wedding, meticulously orchestrated by Mindy Weiss,” the insider had informed Us earlier in the week, referencing the esteemed event planner known for curating spectacular occasions for figures such as the Kardashians, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and other prominent personalities over the years.
While Gomez and Blanco’s guest list included a spectrum of their famous acquaintances, their family members were also presumed to be present. Selena, notably, is the offspring of ex-partners Teefey and Ricardo Gomez. Mandy is currently wed to Brian Teefey, with whom she shares her 12-year-old daughter, Gracie.
Throughout Selena’s upbringing, she maintained an exceptionally close bond with Mandy, who raised her primarily as a single parent.
“I often harbored resentment towards my mother [for separating from my father] because I longed so deeply for a complete family,” Selena recounted during a June 2011 E! Entertainment special detailing her life. “I wished for my mother and father to be together. I recall feeling anger towards my mom. I still carry significant regret about that.”
The pop sensation further elaborated, “Becoming a mother at 16 must have been an immense responsibility. My mom relinquished everything for me and juggled, at times, three jobs. She provided for me, sacrificing her own life for mine.”
As Selena embarked on her acting and music ventures, Mandy consistently served as her most ardent supporter. Together, in 2022, they even co-founded Wondermind, an organization dedicated to mental health awareness.
In previous years, Selena and Mandy’s relationship experienced a temporary strain amidst the Grammy nominee’s struggles with mental health. (Selena sought treatment at a psychiatric facility in 2018 for her mental well-being.)
Benny Blanco Shares Sweet Initial Reaction Following Selena Gomez’s Wedding
“They contacted me, inquiring about my daughter’s condition in the hospital after a nervous breakdown. She wanted no contact with me. I feared she wouldn’t survive,” Mandy recollected in Selena’s 2022 documentary, My Mind and Me. “One clings as tightly as possible and strives to assist with their treatment, and that is the most challenging task — to then retire for the night and pray they awaken the following day. … Her recovery is a miracle, yet there remains a constant apprehension of it reoccurring, and that deeply impacted us.”
After her involvement in the documentary, Mandy opted not to view the final version.
“The reason is because we shared parts of that experience. We endured it, and we found healing and have moved past some of it,” she explained during a 2022 episode of the “On Purpose With Jay Shetty” podcast. “And even if it’s something she underwent, and I was unaware of it at the time, as a mother, it will affect me. It will cause me distress, it will immerse me in that emotional state, and I will wish I could step in and protect her.”
