Marketing Firm CEO Denies Role in Charlie Kirk Shooting Cover-Up
The chief executive of a firm caught in the crosshairs of a speculative narrative concerning Charlie Kirk's demise has released a statement, dismissing the digital rumors as "unfounded."
Derek Maxfield, who leads the marketing firm Komigo, refuted claims that an aircraft belonging to his company facilitated the escape of the alleged perpetrator from the Orem, Utah region following Kirk's fatal shooting at a Utah Valley University campus event.
"Regrettably, as is often the case after such horrifying and widely publicized incidents, numerous groundless conjectures and doubts surrounding Mr. Kirk's killing swiftly spread across social media, among them a theory that has unjustly affected our family," Maxfield posted on social media on Thursday, September 11.
This speculation arose after internet detectives observed the aircraft in question departing from Provo Airport, located approximately a 15-minute drive from the Utah Valley campus, roughly sixty minutes after the shooting incident.
Upon approaching the Arizona state line, the plane deactivated its Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system, a technology that enables air traffic controllers to monitor aircraft movement.

The tracking data reappeared approximately at 2:30 p.m. local time as the aircraft departed Page, Arizona, heading back towards Provo.
"Radar contact with air traffic control ceased by mutual consent between the Denver FAA center and N888KG roughly 10 miles before landing at PGA, a procedure consistent with common practice for flights at uncontrolled airports such as PGA," Maxfield clarified. "The pilots of N888KG adhered to all FAA regulations and guidelines, instructions from control towers, and their pre-filed flight itinerary."
"Any implication linking yesterday's flights of N888KG to the unfortunate shooting of Mr. Kirk is incorrect, untrue, and entirely lacking in credible foundation," he added. "As far as we are aware, no individuals involved with N888KG's flights yesterday have been approached by law enforcement for questioning," he concluded.

Law enforcement officials eventually detained 22-year-old Tyler Robinson regarding his alleged involvement in the shooting incident. Robinson, a lifelong resident of Utah, was enrolled at Utah State University for a single semester prior to withdrawing.
"I believe, with significant confidence, that we have him — in custody … everyone performed admirably; we collaborated with local police, the governor, everyone executed their roles exceptionally well," President Donald Trump stated during a Friday morning interview on Fox News, where he confirmed an arrest.
Kirk, who passed away at 31 years old, is survived by his wife, Erika Kirk (born Frantzve), and their two young children: a daughter named Sarah Rose, aged 3, and a 15-month-old son, whose name has not been disclosed to the public.
