Matt Rogers Mistakenly Believed Kylie Kelce Was Jason's Sister

Stand-up comic Matt Rogers expressed astonishment upon discovering that Kylie Kelce is actually the spouse of Jason Kelce, rather than his sibling.

The 35-year-old Rogers admitted to a misconception regarding the pair’s connection during the “I Don’t Think So, Honey” segment featured on his and Bowen Yang‘s “Las Culturistas” podcast, aired on Wednesday, November 5, with special guest Jennifer Lawrence.

“I don’t think so, honey, Kylie Kelce is his wife? My impression was that she was their sister,” Rogers initiated his minute-long monologue. “I believed Kylie Kelce to be the sister of both Travis and Jason.”

Yang, 34, humorously interjected from the background, remarking, “That's your responsibility,” while his close friend detailed how he ultimately arrived at the understanding of his error.

“This is how it unfolded. I was exiting a hotel when I saw this woman and thought, ‘Oh, my God. That’s Kylie Kelce,'” Rogers recounted. “She appeared to be around 5’6 … and [my friend] corrected me, saying, ‘No, no, no. She’s statuesque.’ And I responded, ‘Of course, that family is known for their height.’ I then continued my day under the belief that she was their sister who hosted a podcast.”

Rogers — a regular contributor to Today With Jenna & Friends — disclosed that he “even searched on Google” to ascertain Kylie’s precise stature. “She measures 5’10,” he stated. “Subsequently, I discovered, she’s his wife?! She’s Jason Kelce’s wife.”

Rogers quipped that the error struck him as “highly disrespectful towards a fellow podcaster,” referencing Kylie’s “Not Gonna Lie” program. “I’m unsure why I presumed she was their sister,” he went on. “I don’t think so, honey, me. This is information I should possess. Pop culture is my domain, and I ought to be familiar with other podcasters. Kylie, I apologize for my oversight. Please join us on the podcast.”

After his friend’s disclosure, Yang commented, “Women can indeed be siblings,” before promptly correcting his own similar misunderstanding.

“I understand your perspective now,” Lawrence, 35, interjected. “I hadn't considered it, but I comprehend. She possesses considerable height. I can certainly see why you’d be quite disoriented by that.”

The most surprising twist? The individual Rogers encountered bore no connection to the Kelce family whatsoever. “I assumed, given it was the Bowery Hotel [in New York City], that ‘This is a suitable location for her. After all, she’s the Kelces' sister.'” … I simply envisioned, ‘Wow, they’re an entire lineage of born podcasters and inherent celebrities,’ only to then discover that she is his wife.”

Kylie and Jason, 37, tied the knot in 2018 and are parents to four daughters. Through their respective popular podcasts — with Jason and Travis, 36, co-hosting “New Heights” — enthusiasts have gained an intimate look into the family’s interactions.

Recently, Kylie openly pondered the possibility of entrusting Travis with the sole supervision of all four of her children.

“In fairness, on the other podcast, I did mention that I would permit him to supervise three children without my presence for approximately an hour,” she stated, referencing a previous “New Heights” guest spot. “I genuinely believe I would entrust him with four children unsupervised … for about an hour. Perhaps two.”

Kylie conceded that “it wouldn't be kind” to assign Travis caretaking duties while their youngest daughter, 7-month-old Finn, remains “at a critical developmental stage.”

“Should a circumstance arise where I required him to look after the three elder children, I would [tell him], ‘Best of luck, Trav. I'll see you in a few days,'” she remarked. “I would abandon him to it.”
