Matthew Koma's Taco Bell Love Letter Celebrates Hilary Duff
Matthew Koma certainly knows how to express his admiration for wife Hilary Duff.
“Six years with my spouse. And people predicted we wouldn’t last. Quite literally, everyone stated, ‘They won’t succeed.’ Well, aside from that individual in the Just Jared comments section, but disregard them—we are thriving. Marrying you feels like enjoying Taco Bell during the 1990s,” Koma shared through his Instagram Story on Sunday, December 21, alongside a picture of the couple cutting cake at their wedding.
He went on, “I’m never sure what version of you I’m going to encounter, but it’s generally the same components, and the joy surpasses any discomfort. And you consistently appear stylish, and I become very enthusiastic when someone mentions, ‘We’re getting a meximelt.’ I adore you; our children are currently arguing, and Mae just detached a Ken doll’s head.”
Duff, in turn, reposted the message on her own Instagram Story on Sunday, commenting, “It’s incredibly flattering to be likened to Taco Bell. He consistently delivers.”

Koma also posted a screenshot of a meeting with Duff in his calendar from 2015, noting, “The meeting was a success!”
In another image, Koma uploaded a screenshot of his reaction after meeting Duff, where he wrote in an email about her, “I want to get married.” Koma added in his Instagram Story, “And I did,” to which Duff responded on Sunday, “Haahahahaha silly!”
Duff and Koma welcomed daughter Banks in 2018, before officially becoming husband and wife a year later. The couple have since expanded their family with daughters Mae and Townes, born in 2021 and 2024, respectively. (Duff also shares son Luca, born in 2012, with former husband Mike Comrie.)
The pair have frequently shared moments of their relationship with their followers. While commemorating their five-year wedding anniversary in December 2024, Duff posted a photo of Koma and wrote, “Five years have passed. Forever remains.”

Koma, meanwhile, referred to Duff as his “dream girl” and “best friend” in his own celebratory message.
“As I lie beside you in bed, completely drained after our third straight 14-hour day of skiing with our four kids—I feel incredibly fortunate. You selected me to accomplish the seemingly impossible with,” he wrote, among other things. “And as we navigate these demanding years, the most exciting aspect is knowing that we understand each other. You are my favorite person to do anything and everything with.”
He continued, “And I realize that might sound underwhelming considering my difficulty tolerating most people, but you brighten up this pessimistic person in a way that compels me to fully embrace and move closer to the #LiveLaughLove ideal than I ever imagined.”
Duff has recently announced a return to music, with Koma offering his support. In November, Duff released her single “Mature,” which she co-wrote with Koma and Madison Love. (She later revealed that her upcoming full-length album, Luck … Or Something, will be released on February 20, 2026.)
“‘Mature’ is available now,” Koma wrote via Instagram at the time. “It’s the first track you’re hearing from an album my wife created over the past year and a half. It’s a demonstration of reclaiming your identity, granting yourself permission to express a voice your younger self didn’t have, and doing so completely and without apology, on your own terms.”
He went on, “Babe, I hope the world appreciates this song, loves your album, and gives you all the recognition you deserve—but I simultaneously don’t really care what anyone thinks because we were able to create something YOU love, that you believe is amazing, and we got to do it together—the rest is a bonus. Congratulations to my wonderful wife, you’re the f coolest.”
