'Meet the Putmans' Family Suffers Tragic Loss in Car Crash
A recent automobile collision has claimed the lives of three individuals from the Meet the Putmans family.
“It is with profound sadness that I reach out, requesting your prayers. Our family experienced a devastating car crash, and we have lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan,” an official communication posted on the family’s @GrowingUpPutmans Instagram page on Saturday, September 27, stated, identifying the deceased as grandparents Bill and Barb Putman along with their daughter-in-law. “They have ascended to be with the Divine.”
Other relatives within the family group also suffered injuries from the collision.
“Kindly hold Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your thoughts and prayers, as they are currently hospitalized,” the announcement further requested. “Our hope is for their full recovery and renewed vigor.”

The reality show Meet the Putmans debuted on TLC in 2017, documenting the everyday experiences of Bill and Barb’s large, multi-generational household of 25 cohabiting individuals. This docuseries was subsequently brought back and rebranded as Growing Up Putman, which premiered on YouTube in 2021. (Bill and Barb were parents to sons Billy, Brandon, Blake, and daughter Blair, whose spouses are Jen, Casey, Megan, and Jamie, in that order.)
Blake, the son of the deceased couple, who sustained injuries in the accident, had been married to Megan for eighteen years prior to her untimely passing. They were parents to Lulu, Alena, and Noah.
“Every member of my family … has declared Jesus Christ as our Master and Redeemer,” the message from Saturday further expressed. “He represents our source of optimism, tranquility, and deliverance. Even amidst this period of sorrow, we find solace in the conviction that God is sovereign.”
The family further stated, “We believe Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan have not vanished eternally. They are vibrant and complete in Paradise, present before Jesus, listening to the commendation we all aspire to hear: ‘Excellent work, my loyal and devoted servant.’”
The Putman family additionally requested “ongoing prayers” for Blake and his offspring during their recuperation from their various wounds.

The family concluded by saying, “Kindly persist in uplifting us, ensuring our spirits stay focused on the truth that Jesus triumphed over demise to grant us everlasting existence.”
After the conclusion of Meet the Putmans and Growing Up Putman, the family members maintained sharing their experiences through digital platforms. Notably, Barb had marked her husband’s birthday merely four days prior to their ill-fated incident.

Bill, congratulations on entering your Medicare era,” Barb lightheartedly posted on Instagram on Tuesday, September 23. “You genuinely represent a profound gift to both me and our loved ones. You motivate us daily with your resilience, insight, and resolve. You serve as our sanctuary, our muse, and our source of encouragement. You are establishing an enduring heritage for our children and grandchildren, one they will cherish perpetually.”
