Meghan McCain Fires Back at Tucker Carlson Guest's Fat Shaming Remarks
Expectant mother Meghan McCain has issued a sharp rebuke following a guest's derogatory remark about her weight on Tucker Carlson’s podcast.
“I am cognizant that my weight, specifically my perceived 'fatness,' became a topic of discussion between Tucker Carlson and his guest on a recent episode of his program,” the 41-year-old McCain conveyed via an X post late Thursday, December 4.
She further stated, “Indeed, I am quite large, being nearly nine months pregnant with my third child. I am also exceedingly content.”
During the Wednesday, December 3, installment of “The Tucker Carlson Show,” political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos directed criticism at both McCain and her deceased father, Senator John McCain, amidst a discussion centered on conservative political ideologies and homosexuality.
A Chronicle of Meghan McCain and Ben Domenech’s Relationship
Yiannopoulos provocatively inquired if “anything could be gayer than John McCain’s bloodlust,” proceeding to assert that the late senator “even had the stout companion — his daughter.”
“He even cultivated the corpulent closest confidante,” Yiannopoulos conveyed to Carlson. “Is there a more flamboyant f hag in America than Meghan McCain? You see, she harbors self-loathing. She’s overweight. She’s unhinged. She embodies every gay man’s fantasy.”
In her social media dispatch, McCain specifically singled out Carlson, 56, for permitting Yiannopoulos to express such views on his extensively distributed podcast.
“Regardless of how often Tucker espouses his Christian faith, participating in such a discussion on a globally prominent podcast falls short of Christian conduct,” she remarked. “This brand of misogynistic cruelty and duplicity serves as a quintessential illustration of why the conservative movement struggles to connect with female voters of my age demographic.”

“Do not pity me; I have been labeled 'fat' by individuals since I commenced my media career at 22. Such commentary is stale, uninspired, and monotonous,” McCain elaborated.
She concluded her digital statement, “My livelihood is not predicated on such maliciousness, and I genuinely struggle to comprehend the existence of those whose lives are. It must indeed be profoundly bleak.”
The erstwhile cohost of The View confirmed her pregnancy in June. McCain and her husband, Ben Domenech, are anticipating their third child, joining daughters Liberty Sage, 5, and Clover Jade, 2.
“I trust you won't object. I wished to share a private matter that I have yet to disclose publicly,” McCain informed second lady Usha Vance during a June broadcast of her “Citizen McCain With Meghan McCain” podcast. “I am a mother to two young girls, nearing five and three years of age. I am currently entering my second trimester, pregnant with my third.”
“I recognize this as an unconventional announcement, but I am quite apprehensive about … it's a boy. I feel considerable trepidation regarding having a son. And I am immensely nervous about raising three children. Immensely so,” she appended.
McCain united in marriage with the 43-year-old Domenech in 2017, one year prior to her father's passing.
In a 2022 episode of her “Me Becoming Mom” podcast, McCain recounted how her daughter Liberty, who never had the opportunity to meet her paternal grandfather, evoked memories of John.
“[Liberty] has a particular hand gesture, a mannerism my father frequently displayed. I do not perform it. Its origin is unknown to me, yet she exhibits it even now,” Meghan shared then. “I confessed to my mother-in-law that it discomfits me when she does it, as it mirrors a physical habit my father had with his hands. … However, I cherished my father and I adore my mother in a way I believe many individuals love their parents, the figures who nurtured them. And with my father specifically, he was an immense presence in myriad aspects of my life. But with my daughter, it is simply unadulterated. She is flawless.”
