Melissa Bring: Dave Coulier's rock through health battles and life's journey
Melissa Bring, wife of actor Dave Coulier, has been a steadfast presence by her husband's side as he navigates significant health challenges.
The couple's charming first encounter, a classic "meet-cute," unfolded during a men's trip taken by the Full House alumnus to Montana, Bring's home state. Coulier and his companions were dining at the establishment where Bring was employed when fate orchestrated their collision.
“I was walking by and I accidentally hit him with my pen. It flipped out of my hands as I was twirling it,” she recounted during a September 2025 appearance on the “Water Your Garden” podcast. “We started bantering and he was like, ‘If you walk by again I’m going to trip you.’ I was like, ‘Ha ha’ and I walk back by and he trips me.”
Bring further revealed that Coulier gallantly caught her before she could fall, sealing the start of their story. The pair exchanged vows in 2014, and since their wedding day, Bring and Coulier have consistently offered unwavering support to one another through all of life's peaks and valleys, including his recent health battles. In December 2025, Coulier publicly disclosed his diagnosis of HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer — a revelation made almost precisely one year after he announced his fight against stage III non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Melissa Bring Embarked on Her Career as a Photographer
From an early age, Bring developed a profound passion for photography, sparked by the gift of a camera.
“My Grandmother gifted me a camera at age 11, and I quickly developed a love for photography,” she shared in a November 2019 interview with VoyageLA. “I used my siblings as my subjects for portraiture and tree bark for abstracts.”
Cultivating her innate talent for capturing images, she pursued formal education through various classes and submitted her work to exhibitions. Her academic journey culminated in a college degree in photography, ultimately leading to the establishment of her own enterprise, Melissa Coulier Creative.
Melissa Bring Navigates Life with Lupus
In 2006, Bring received a diagnosis of Lupus.
“I was told upfront from the doctors that lupus is an [incurable] disease, and this is what you’re just gonna have to live with,” Bring reflected on her initial understanding of the condition in a January 2024 interview with Seen magazine. “This is the pain you live with. This is just going to be your normal life.”
Years subsequent to her diagnosis, Bring formed a connection with holistic nutritionist Melanie Samuels while Coulier was involved in Fuller House. Samuels guided Bring in managing her lupus through strategic lifestyle and dietary adjustments, significantly ameliorating her symptoms over time.
“After three years, my body felt so good,” she remembered. “I mean, I didn’t even know that I would ever feel no pain in the morning. Or I’ve always had this extreme back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and the fact that I was waking up and I felt refreshed — I didn’t have this intense fatigue anymore. I felt like it had just been this miracle worker situation.”

In November 2024, Coulier disclosed his diagnosis of stage III non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Bring has played an instrumental role in his care, leveraging her extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition to support him.
“We’re focusing on fueling his body with real whole foods, cutting out refined sugar & processed foods, spending time in nature, and incorporating infrared saunas, breathwork, and massages to support Dave’s strength and comfort,” she shared via Instagram at the time. “Dave’s resilience inspires me every day, and together, we’re doing everything to support his recovery — with plenty of laughter to keep spirits high.”
The following year, Coulier commenced treatment for HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer.
