The Wrestler star, 73, “approved” a GoFundMe page designed to cover an alleged “$59,100” rental bill, according to a Sunday, January 4, report published by The Hollywood Reporter.
The GoFundMe page was created by Liya Joelle-Jones from Bantam, Connecticut, with the “friend and member of Rourke’s management team” explaining her intentions in an interview with the publication. “Mickey is experiencing a very challenging period right now, and it’s been incredibly moving to see how many people care about him and want to offer support,” Joelle-Jones stated.
Us Weekly has contacted a spokesperson for Rourke for a statement.

According to reporting by the Los Angeles Times last month, the actor received a “three-day eviction notice” on December 18, 2025, after signing a lease for the property in March of the previous year at a rate of “$5,200 per month.” The outlet noted that Rourke’s rent was purportedly later increased to $7,000 per month.
As per another report by Fox News published on Thursday, January 1, Rourke’s landlord, Eric Goldie, filed a lawsuit with the Los Angeles Superior Court on December 29, 2025, after Rourke failed to pay the alleged rental bill. Goldie is now also reportedly pursuing “compensation for damages and legal expenses.”
At the time of this article’s publication, the GoFundMe page had accumulated just under $29,000 in donations from over 693 individuals.

A description on the page indicated that the initiative was “established with Mickey’s complete consent to assist in covering immediate housing-related costs and prevent [eviction] from occurring.”
The description also provided a summary of Rourke’s career and decline leading up to the alleged eviction notice.
“Mickey Rourke burst onto the American cinema scene as a powerful force — raw, fearless and uniquely original. In the late 1970s and 1980s, he wasn’t simply a movie star; he was a symbol of something rare: danger combined with vulnerability, toughness paired with heart,” it read. “At the peak of his success, he stepped away from Hollywood in pursuit of truth and authenticity, choosing risk over comfort.”
The description continued, “Boxing — genuine and demanding — left enduring physical and emotional marks, and the industry that once celebrated him quickly moved on. What followed were years of hardship not defined by spectacle, but by survival: health problems, financial difficulties and the quiet impact of being left behind. Today, Mickey is confronting a very real and pressing situation: the threat of eviction from his home.”

It then discussed Rourke’s journey as a celebrity, asserting that fame “does not shield against adversity” and that the actor is deserving of a place to live.
“The objective is straightforward: to provide Mickey with stability and peace of mind during an exceptionally stressful time — so he can remain in his home and have the space to regain his footing,” the description read. “Any contribution, regardless of size, will make a significant difference. And if you are unable to donate, sharing this page is a tremendous help and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness, compassion and support.”
Rourke drew attention last year due to his controversial conduct on Celebrity Big Brother UK, which resulted in a heated disagreement with fellow housemate Chris Hughes in April 2025. Following the pair’s exchange — and after the reality show publicly condemned Rourke’s “offensive and threatening” remarks — Rourke was removed from the reality series.
