Millie Bobby Brown Trades Hollywood Glitz for Georgia Farm Life and Animal Sanctuary
Despite being a prominent figure in Hollywood, Millie Bobby Brown hasn't embraced the opulent and celebrity-driven way of life.
The actress relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, in November 2015 for the filming of the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things. At just 10 years old and one of four siblings, her whole family joined her, a move that the family seemingly has no reservations about.
“My parents preferred I didn’t mature within that environment,” the star explained to British Vogue in November 2025, discussing her choice to reside away from intense public scrutiny. "While I cherish my profession, it isn't my sole identity. One finds true meaning in their individual existence."
Brown wed Jake Bongiovi, son of the renowned vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, in May 2024, subsequently adopting a daughter in the summer of 2025. While adapting to parenthood, Brown kept expanding her farm's animal population, which doubles as an animal sanctuary.

Her Childhood Roots are in Georgia
During a November 2025 conversation with British Vogue, Brown clarified her reasons for choosing a farm property near Atlanta.
“I was raised here, you understand?” she responded when questioned about her decision to remain close to the city rather than relocating to Los Angeles. "Thanks to Stranger Things, this has been the longest continuous period I've lived anywhere. I consider this place my true home."
Her Parents Disapproved of a Hollywood-Centric Life for Her
Brown’s choice to reside in Georgia was also influenced by her parents, as they established the family's residence in the state.
"They wished for me not to mature in that particular environment," she further explained to Vogue, referring to her parents' intention to shield her from the negative aspects of life in Hollywood. "While I adore my profession, it doesn't wholly represent me. One possesses a fundamental sense of purpose in their individual existence."
She Rejects the Notion That Her Farm Life is Solely for "Aesthetic" Reasons
In an interview with Vanity Fair published in February 2025, Brown responded to remarks suggesting her choice of farm living was merely to project a specific "aesthetic."
“I'm not pursuing this for the visual appeal,” she asserted. “I engage in it because I genuinely enjoy it. While some 'trad wives' might embrace it for its seemingly wholesome image, it’s far from it. If you're not mucking out horse stalls or hand-washing a cow with your bare hands, then that lifestyle is absolutely not suited for you.”
Her Deep Commitment Lies in Animal Rescue
Residing on the farm additionally allows Brown to partake in an activity she holds dear: saving animals. During a March 2025 interview with BBC One, she disclosed that she and her husband Bongiovi have converted their residence into a facility for animal rescue and fostering.
“My collection includes 25 farm animals, alongside 23 foster dogs, 10 personal dogs living in my home, and four cats,” she stated. "Among them are a Rottweiler, a Golden Retriever, a Great Dane, and an 18-year-old blind Dachshund named Rigby, who I found abandoned. I brought him in, assuming he didn't have much time left, being blind and disoriented.”
She added, “Now, this dog is leaping onto my sofa. He has discovered a renewed vitality. He is flourishing remarkably, absolutely excelling. He’s familiar with the entire house. It’s as if he's regaining his sight. He begins to survey his surroundings, locating where his food and the bedroom are, and he's truly improving.”
