Mormon Wives Star Chase McWhorter Cited for Suspended License Amid Ongoing DUI Case

Chase McWhorter, a cast member on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, an incident occurring months after his initial arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) and cocaine possession, according to an exclusive report by Us Weekly.

Per judicial records, Chase — who is the ex-husband of MomTok figure Miranda McWhorter — entered a guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license on November 26. (The charge stems from an incident on September 19 when Chase was cited for being behind the wheel without valid documentation.)

The court directed Chase to adhere to conditions of good behavior and pay a fine of $335.

On December 2, Chase received correspondence from the Bluffside Justice Center in Utah. The notice informed Chase that he was in violation of a recent court order requiring payment of fines related to driving without a valid license.

Chase was given until December 17 to pay the $335 or face further judicial action. “It is in your best interest to respond to this letter TODAY,” the letter warned.

The court docket indicates Chase made the fine payment on the subsequent day.

As Us previously reported, Chase continues to face more severe legal issues stemming from his arrest in Utah on July 4, 2024, for driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.

The reality star was additionally charged with operating a vehicle on a suspended or revoked license during the July incident. The Hulu personality was released after posting a $2,500 bond. He has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges.

Chase is scheduled to appear in court on January 13 for sentencing related to his DUI case.

The police report details that officers initiated the traffic stop after observing Chase fail to “maintain his speed and drifted outside of the travel lane several times.”

According to the report, an officer claimed Chase smelled of alcohol and exhibited “bloodshot, glassy eyes,” along with slurred speech. During questioning, Chase confessed to consuming alcohol at a bar and using cocaine before operating the vehicle.

The arrest details were not made public until The Sun reported the story on December 3. Chase issued a public apology for the incident in a social media video posted later that same day.

“I was pulled over for driving under the influence, had ingested substances that I shouldn’t have and got behind the wheel of a car,” Chase stated. “Extremely shortsighted, selfish and dangerous decision. And shout-out to the cop for helping people stay safe on the road, because it could have ended much worse than it did.”

The reality star mentioned he had been attending a pool party with friends prior to the arrest. He explained that he originally intended to stay at the friend’s home but chose to leave after a conflict arose during the gathering. Chase said he decided to drive because he lived only a few miles away.

“I should have Ubered, but for some reason, I decided to drive home, and that decision alone kills people every single day,” he said. “I understand the severity of it. Obviously, it was a humiliating low being pulled over and taken in. Terrible look for me.”

Chase disclosed that he informed his ex-wife, Miranda, about the arrest following his release from jail. (The former couple was married from 2017 to 2024. They share two children: Brooks, age 6, and Cohen, age 4.)

“Unfortunately, I have been a disappointment to [Miranda] a number of times throughout the time she’s known me, both as a partner and now as a coparent,” Chase stated. “So, that sucks.”

“I am deeply regretful of the decision that I made, and sorry for how it looks, and to everyone that was on the road that day, because obviously that is how people lose lives,” he added.

As Us first reported, Miranda recently received a default judgment in a lawsuit concerning alleged credit card debt.
