Natalie Joy Shares Heartfelt Reflection and Custom Ring After Year of Loss
Nick Viall’s spouse, Natalie Joy, offered a deeply personal retrospective on a year marked by affection, bereavement, and resilience.
In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, December 31, Joy, 27, revealed a custom ring she commissioned following three pregnancy losses in 2025.
“The year that held so much sorrow, yet I’ve never felt more cherished. 2025 brought personal development, and that’s all I could hope for. I’m looking forward to 2026 with my loved ones,” she wrote in the caption.
Joy shared a photograph of her hand in her April slide, wearing a bypass-style yellow gold band that featured two small, pear-shaped green gemstones.
The certified surgical technologist noted that she “experienced the loss of two babies and had this ring created,” adding, “little did I know we’d suffer another loss before the year concluded.” (The couple — who share a 20-month-old daughter, River Rose — spoke publicly about enduring miscarriages in January, March, and in August.)
The Bachelor alum, 45, spoke candidly about their heartbreak over the summer, expressing their desire to be open about their experiences.
“As you can see, Natalie is not with me,” he said during the August 14 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “There’s no easy way to express it, it’s incredibly difficult. She’s understandably at home resting and recovering, both physically and emotionally.”

“It’s been a tumultuous time, and we’re trying to navigate it as a family. Part of this challenge is still appreciating what we have, having River, and life continues,” Viall said. “It’s all very confusing how one is supposed to grieve something like this … but we appreciate your support.”
Joy also shared details about her own grieving process via Instagram Stories back in March, writing, “While mourning the loss of our second baby earlier this year, I unexpectedly discovered I was pregnant again.”
“It took some time for me to accept what had occurred only to be given another opportunity so quickly and easily. But eventually I found immense happiness. We were finally in a place of complete and utter gratitude. This past week I experienced another miscarriage,” she continued.

Even with the difficulties they faced, Viall and Joy discovered strength in each other and ways to share many meaningful and joyful moments this year.
Joy included a sweet photo of their daughter surrounded by gifts and balloons while celebrating her first birthday in February, also sharing a special memory from March when the couple purchased a new home. In May, she and River Rose enjoyed a “girls’ trip to the farm” just one month before Joy and Viall hosted a Netflix show and brought her family to Canada.
Joy also reflected on celebrating her own birthday in August as well as Viall’s in September, acquiring a new studio and offices for Envy Media the following month and launching her long-awaited merchandise in November — all before enjoying a “winter wonderland magic month at the lake” to conclude 2025.
Viall showed his affection in the comments section, writing, “No matter what, we have each other.”
