Nation Mourns Charlie Kirk With Massive Memorial Event As Suspect Apprehended
A public tribute event honoring the conservative political analyst Charlie Kirk is scheduled for Arizona next weekend, held in the wake of his fatal shooting on Wednesday, September 10.
Turning Point USA, the political group he founded, declared on Saturday, September 13, that the commemorative gathering, titled “Building a Legacy, Remembering Charlie Kirk,” is set for Sunday, September 21, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This location serves as the home field for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals and boasts a capacity of up to 73,000 attendees.
Fox News reported that President Donald Trump intends to be present at the ceremony. Entry to the memorial will commence at 8 a.m. PT, with the service itself beginning at 11 a.m. PT, and supporters can secure tickets online, allocated on a first-come, first-served principle.
“His impact will persist through future generations," stated Turning Point USA in an official announcement. "And now he receives the scripture from Matthew 25:23 from his Lord and Savior: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’"

Kirk sustained fatal gunshot wounds during an address at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, subsequently passing away at 31 years old at a nearby medical facility. The FBI disclosed on Friday, September 12, that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old individual suspected of the shooting, had been apprehended following an extensive multi-day search.
This tragic event occurred while Kirk was on his American Comeback Tour, at a venue where he was slated to deliver a speech beneath a sign proclaiming “Prove Me Wrong.” Initial accounts suggest the gunfire originated from roughly 200 yards away, around 1:20 p.m. local time.
Following Kirk’s demise, two individuals were initially detained for interrogation but were later exonerated as potential suspects. (One of the individuals initially considered a person of interest, George Zinn, faced charges for suspected obstruction of justice.)
After the alleged shooter, Robinson, was taken into custody, CNN reported him to be a Washington, Utah, native who had withdrawn from Utah State University even after receiving a scholarship. Although Robinson was registered to vote, his status was recorded as “inactive” and he held no affiliation with any political party.
Following the shooting, the activist’s wife, Erika Kirk, made her first public statement on Friday during a speech broadcast by Turning Point USA, describing her husband as “such a good man” and a “perfect father.” (The couple were parents to two children: a son and a daughter.)
“Charlie adored his children and he loved me with all of his being, and I was aware of that every single day. He made sure I knew that every single day,” stated Erika, 36. “Daily, he would inquire, ‘How can I better support you? How can I improve as a husband? How can I be a more effective father?’ … He was an exceptional man. He remains an exceptional man. He was the ideal father. He was the ideal husband.”
During a profoundly emotional segment, Erika recounted how she informed her and Charlie’s two young children of their father’s passing.
“Upon my arrival home last night, Gigi, our daughter, immediately rushed into my embrace, and I spoke with her as she said, ‘Mommy, I miss you,’ to which I replied, ‘I miss you too, sweetie,’ and then she asked, ‘Where’s daddy?’ How does one explain that to a 3-year-old? She’s 3,” Erika shared. “And I told her, ‘Daddy loves you so very much, darling; he’s on a special work trip with Jesus so he can ensure your blueberry allowance.’”
