Ned Fulmer Addresses Criticism Over Podcast Appearance With Ex-Wife Ariel

Ned Fulmer is addressing the public criticism surrounding his recent podcast episode, which featured his former wife, Ariel Fulmer, in the aftermath of his well-known infidelity scandal.

“I’ve taken note of numerous comments and responses concerning my podcast discussion with Ariel, and I felt it was important to record this video to speak to some of those,” the 38-year-old Ned stated in an Instagram video posted on Saturday, November 8.

“The podcast episode with Ariel primarily focused on her perspective, and in this current video, I intend to share more of my own. While many details were intended to remain confidential, I will address certain aspects today,” he continued, recognizing that viewers probably found it “a deeply hurtful and uneasy discussion to witness.”

He further explained, “From our standpoint, it seemed essential for us to progress. We understood that these types of inquiries would invariably arise online, irrespective of the setting, and confronting them directly appeared to be the sole path to advancement.”

Report: Ned Fulmer and Spouse Ariel Part Ways Three Years Post-Infidelity Scandal

Debuting in September 2025, this podcast signifies Fulmer’s return to online platforms following his 2022 infidelity scandal involving colleague Alexandria Herring. Fulmer, previously recognized as the “wife guy” during his tenure on the original “Try Guys” podcast, had been wed for a decade before reports of his infidelity surfaced in September 2022.

“My family ought to have consistently been my foremost concern, but I diverged and engaged in a consensual professional relationship,” the online figure conveyed in an X statement issued then. “I regret any distress my conduct might have inflicted upon the team and the audience, and particularly upon [my wife] Ariel. My immediate focus is solely on my marital relationship and my children, and that is where my efforts will be concentrated.”

The presence of Ariel on the podcast provoked strong criticism from followers, with numerous individuals alleging that Ned exploited a distressing circumstance and Ariel’s investment in the new podcast for its financial gain.

“She holds an interest in the ‘Rock Bottom’ podcast and this new venture, and her desire is for it to thrive,” Ned remarked regarding his former partner Ariel’s participation, clarifying that the concept originated with her. “Consequently, that contributed to why we chose to have that discussion together, as opposed to on any other medium. We understood it would attract considerable notice, and I recognize that some of you have only viewed brief 15-second excerpts of my verbal missteps, but I trust that those who watched the entire hour gained some insight from it.”

Ned reaffirmed that TikTok videos represent “merely a brief segment of a one-hour discussion covering three years of efforts to resolve this,” and elaborated on the “rigorous regimen of individual therapy, collective therapy, and personal development” he has undertaken since the controversy emerged.

“This entailed confronting numerous rationalizations, negations, and downplays — all these cognitive obscurities that enable the perpetuation of conduct known to be injurious, yet still pursued,” he clarified. “It allowed me to acknowledge the undeniable truth: I was unfaithful to my wife with an employee of my company, which inflicted profound suffering upon her and devastated our marriage, while also causing considerable distress to many others. These were solely my self-serving actions and decisions.”

The podcast presenter underscored his dedication to spending time endeavoring to “comprehend the behavioral patterns that precipitated this,” noting that his efforts encompassed “internal family systems and parts work,” alongside participation in a 12-step recovery program.

“Regarding my connection with Ariel, it commenced as a guided separation for healing. Following that, I compiled a comprehensive disclosure document addressing all her inquiries and willingly underwent a lie detector examination. This was done to then, within a therapeutic environment, communicate that information to her, enabling us to construct a fresh foundation based on a complete understanding of all events. This method is a recognized therapeutic approach for individuals striving to heal from betrayal trauma,” he proceeded. “Concerning betrayal trauma, that term is something I became acquainted with. The concepts of betrayal trauma and integrity abuse, and these frameworks that provide systems and terminology for grasping the suffering and why concealing such secrets, particularly those of a sexual character, can be profoundly detrimental to a relationship. These are the principles I absorbed and have consistently applied daily, particularly regarding transparent communication and acting congruently with my words, and swiftly rectifying any errors to … uphold my personal integrity.”

Ned furthermore mentioned that he and Ariel have been engaged in this healing journey for a period of two years, and he is committed to pursuing the requisite efforts. He also urged the audience to resist the urge to “evaluate me solely based on a single video excerpt where I discussed society, which was clearly not the most appropriate reaction in that context,” though he appended that should they insist, “they are free to do so.”

“Looking ahead, I deeply embrace the objective of the ‘Rock Bottom’ podcast to cultivate discussions characterized by understanding and inquisitiveness,” he concluded near the video’s end. “This initiative arises from significant insights gained in group therapy, observing how the act of someone recounting their process of confronting self-inflicted damage and surmounting adversity can genuinely serve as a powerful impetus for recovery.”

During the inaugural episode of the “Rock Bottom” podcast, Ariel revealed that she has neither forgiven Ned nor intends to, and additionally, while they collaboratively raise their sons, Wesley and Finn, they are no longer in a romantic relationship.
