New Royal Residence Revealed: William and Kate's Chic New Digs
Prince William has offered a glimpse into the new residence he shares with Princess Kate Middleton — in a manner of speaking.
The 43-year-old William recently recorded a video for the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Assembly, honoring Armistice Day. Astute observers were quick to spot the Prince of Wales’ new abode.
Although William’s address to the youth of the U.K. carried significant weight, the opulent gold crown molding visible behind him garnered more attention. A single wall showcased blue patterned wallpaper and a pair of framed pictures. The chamber where William stood was also adorned with voluminous red drapes. (It appears gold is a prominent decorative theme in their new residence.)
William and Kate, both 43, formally relocated from their previous dwelling, Adelaide Cottage, to Forest Lodge within Windsor Great Park at the beginning of the month.

Us Weekly reported in August that William, Kate, and their three children — Prince George, aged 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — were slated to move prior to 2026. Their new residence boasts eight sleeping quarters, six washrooms, a concealed fence for enhanced seclusion, a tennis court, and a sizable pond.
“This new dwelling signifies a fresh chapter for the family,” an insider revealed exclusively to Us in August. “The choice to relocate to this new abode is noteworthy, indicating greater autonomy, yet it comes as no complete shock.”
This Windsor property “will enable” the couple to maintain closer proximity to their offspring, who are preparing for boarding school enrollment in the coming years.
The identical source clarified to Us that William and Kate “uphold very firm boundaries” and prioritize safeguarding “their psychological well-being and domestic existence.” A previous account suggested they intend to remain at Forest Lodge even once William ascends to the throne.
Following King Charles III's revocation of his titles, what will be Prince Andrew's next residence?
“While it might appear to be a major shift for the royals not to inhabit Buckingham Palace to those unfamiliar, to those in the know, it is not unexpected,” the same source informed Us. “King Charles himself has not resided there for an extended period and favors spending his time away from London.”
William and Kate’s recent relocation coincided with the announcement that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor would be vacating his dwelling, Royal Lodge, also situated in Windsor.
“Prince Andrew will henceforth be referred to as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His tenancy agreement for Royal Lodge had, until recently, afforded him legal security to maintain occupancy,” a Buckingham Palace communiqué stated late last month. “Official notification has now been issued for the surrender of the lease, and he will transfer to different private lodgings. These disciplinary actions are considered essential, despite his ongoing denials of the accusations leveled against him.”
Andrew’s forfeiture of his princely title and removal from his residence occurred as news reports persisted in linking the discredited royal figure to the deceased billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has consistently refuted the late Virginia Giuffre’s claims of sexual battery ever since she initially brought them forward in 2019.
“Their Majesties desire to make it unequivocally clear that their considerations and profound compassion have always been, and will continue to be, with the victims and survivors of all manifestations of abuse,” Buckingham Palace’s declaration concluded.
