Nick Offerman Calls Megan Mullally a "Magnificent Deity" and Credits Her for Marriage Longevity
Nick Offerman is sharing insights into the longevity of his enduring marriage with Megan Mullally.
“She is a magnificent deity. She possesses a comedic talent unparalleled by anyone I’ve encountered – and that includes luminaries like Mel Brooks and John Cleese,” the 55-year-old star of The Last of Us revealed to The Guardian in a discussion released on Thursday, September 25. “She performs expertly in dance and song. Her prowess in both dramatic and comedic arts is truly exceptional.”
“Her discernment is remarkable – save for some clear oversights. We occasionally dispute who neglected to replace the toothpaste cap,” he went on to say. “However, I feel immense gratitude that, after a quarter-century, she continues to opt for me. The challenging aspect is, much like my father's presence guiding me when reversing a vehicle, Megan's influence is keenly felt when I’m performing, particularly when singing. Being wedded to someone with the performing caliber of a Lionel Messi makes it arduous to maintain one's own precision.”
Offerman and Mullally's initial encounter occurred in the year 2000, during their shared performance in The Evidence Room Theatre Company’s Los Angeles staging of the play The Berlin Circle.
“We shared numerous scenes, and I began to ponder, ‘Hold on, he’s amusing,’ Mullally recounted to BuzzFeed in 2013 regarding her first impression of her spouse-to-be. “Subsequently, I wondered, ‘Wait a minute, is he attractive?’ What exactly is occurring?’”

Offerman subsequently featured in Mullally’s television show Will & Grace, with the couple announcing their engagement in 2002. Their nuptials took place in a secluded ceremony at their residence on September 20, 2003.
Mullally notably made guest appearances on Parks and Recreation portraying Tammy Swanson, the eccentric former spouse of Offerman’s character, Ron Swanson.
“The most extraordinary aspect of her potent allure was that, during my time on Parks and Recreation, I was renowned for maintaining a poker face,” Offerman shared with The Guardian about his wife’s recurring role. “While Chris Pratt occasionally surprised me into laughter, I appreciate understated comedy, so typically, no one could break my composure. However, Megan would enter a scene, and my efforts would collapse because, by her very nature, she understands precisely how to provoke a reaction. Every one of our shared moments depicted her employing her charm as a tactic against me, a confrontation I conceded ages ago.”
This instance is hardly the initial occasion the performer from Parks and Rec has expressed fervent admiration for his spouse. Back in 2013, Offerman candidly discussed his marital connection with The A.V. Club,
