Nicki Minaj's $20 Million Mansion Faces Forced Sale Amid Legal Battle

Nicki Minaj's $20 million residence appears to be at increased risk of repossession by an individual who secured a legal judgment against her, following indications that an L.A. judge is favoring his request, Us Weekly can report.

A court session took place on Monday, November 24, concerning the legal action initiated by Thomas Weidenmuller. (Weidenmuller had previously been granted a $500,000 default ruling against Minaj, 42, and her spouse, Kenneth Petty, 47, in connection with an alleged battery committed by Petty.)

As Us initially disclosed, Weidenmuller petitioned the court to liquidate Minaj's Hidden Hills, California estate. He claimed the property's value was $20 million, with an outstanding mortgage of $13 million. Weidenmuller contended that funds generated from a prospective sale would be sufficient to settle both the mortgage debt and his judgment.

Rolling Stone indicated that during this week's proceedings, Judge Cindy Pánuco seemed disposed to approve the forced sale of Minaj's residence.

Addressing Weidenmuller's petition, she stated, “My preliminary [decision] is to approve this.”

The publication mentioned that the judge requested Bank of America records detailing Minaj's payments on the $13.3 million mortgage since its inception in October 2022.

During the proceedings, the judge clarified her need for the banking records. She remarked, “Assume no bidder offers the entire $20 million, and it proceeds to auction where it doesn't fetch fair market value, failing to cover all obligations. Should it not cover what the sale must satisfy — including the judgment, in this particular scenario — I would then utilize that information to assist in my ruling.”

“From my perspective, that is the sole remaining requirement. All other aspects appeared satisfactory,” the judge observed.

A further hearing is scheduled for January 22, at which point Weidenmuller is anticipated to present the aforementioned documents.

As Us initially disclosed, Weidenmuller submitted his petition on October 6 for the sale of Minaj's expansive 11-bedroom, 16-bathroom, 11,820 square foot estate. (Minaj acquired the property for $19.5 million in December 2022.) His submission detailed that the couple has failed to make any payment towards the $503,000 outstanding debt.

“While it is unfortunate that the drastic step of compelling the sale of Minaj's residence has become necessary, this outcome stems entirely from her unwillingness to remit payment,” stated Weidenmuller’s attorney, Paul Saso.

Saso further elaborated, “Minaj is an internationally acclaimed music icon, with an estimated fortune ranging from $150-190 million, and is purportedly the highest-earning female rapper globally. It is highly improbable that she lacks the means to fully satisfy the judgment, yet she has declined to do so despite numerous written demands for payment and enforcement actions initiated against several of her presumed financial institutions.”

Weidenmuller stated in his preliminary filing that Petty physically assaulted him during his tenure as a security professional at a Minaj concert in Germany back in 2019.

Weidenmuller recounted that during the performance, an admirer breached the security line and gained access to the stage. He stated that post-show, he witnessed Minaj admonishing a female security personnel regarding the event. Weidenmuller asserted his attempt to intercede and de-escalate the tension, but alleged his actions displeased Minaj.

He asserted that he was summoned to Minaj's dressing room later that evening. Weidenmuller specified that Minaj, Petty, and two of her security staff were in attendance.

Weidenmuller claimed the rapper began verbally abusing him, and subsequently, Petty “without provocation,” struck him in the face. He reported being urgently transported to the hospital, where he required surgical intervention for a fractured jaw.

Neither Minaj nor her spouse formally addressed the allegations in court. The judge approved the default ruling early in 2024.

On October 15, Minaj publicly addressed the legal action on X.

She stated, “I possess proof that this information was provided to a business [manager] who failed to inform me. Both my legal counsel AND business [managers] (previous & current) are COGNIZANT. It remains to be seen if they will publicly comment or if I will be compelled to name them. That identical business [manager] DEFRAUDED me on numerous occasions.”
