Nicole Kidman Embraces Sisterhood and a Fresh Start Post-Divorce
Nicole Kidman is embarking on a fresh phase of her life with the support of her sister.
Kidman, 58, reactivated her Instagram account for the first time since finalizing her divorce from Keith Urban after nearly two decades of marriage. “Sisters,” the Lioness actress captioned the Thursday, January 8 post on the social media platform, featuring her younger sister, Antonia Kidman.
Nicole showcased her natural curls in a striking photograph, complementing the hairstyle with a lime-green lace dress with delicate sleeves. She completed the vibrant ensemble with a minimalist makeup look, including rosy cheeks and soft pink lipstick.
Antonia, meanwhile, paired a yellow top with a geometric pattern, a red cardigan, and layered gold necklaces. She leaned in close to Nicole and embraced her warmly.
What Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's Lives Look Like After Divorce
“Embrace your natural curls. They look wonderful,” one person commented beneath the image, while another Instagram user wrote, “My favorite actress. Enjoy your time together with your sister.”
The post appeared two days after Nicole reached an agreement in her divorce with Urban, 58, in a Nashville courtroom on Tuesday, January 6. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Nicole was designated as the primary caregiver for her and Urban’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, and no regular child support payments will be made.
Sunday and Faith will each spend 306 days annually with Kidman and 59 days with Urban, as outlined in a mutually agreed-upon parenting plan. The documents also indicated that neither party will receive alimony or spousal support. Their assets, including bank accounts and personal belongings, will be divided by mutual consent.
The agreement stipulated that Nicole and Urban are to “conduct themselves with each other and each child in a manner that fosters a loving, stable, consistent, and nurturing relationship with the child, even in the wake of their divorce.”
“They will refrain from speaking negatively about each other or the members of the other parent’s family,” the documents stated. “They will encourage each child to maintain affection for the other parent and feel comfortable in both households.”
When Did Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Last Post Together on Social Media?
Us confirmed on September 29, 2025, that Kidman and Urban had separated. She filed for divorce the following day, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
“The two had gradually drifted apart, and by the end, the decision to separate felt more like an acceptance than a surprise,” an insider exclusively told Us in October 2025.
Despite the divorce, a separate insider told Us that same month that Nicole was keeping herself “very occupied” and has continued to “prioritize establishing new routines with her daughters and maintaining a stable and loving home environment.”
“She is moving forward positively,” the source said. “She isn’t necessarily seeking a new normal amidst all of this, as they had been quietly separated for some time.”
Nicole has been actively engaged with projects such as Practical Magic 2, Big Little Lies season 3, and season 1 of Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
“This next chapter feels more like a transition than a shock,” the insider added.
