Nicole Kidman Shares Thanksgiving Joy with Daughters Amidst Keith Urban Divorce Proceedings
Nicole Kidman shared details of her Thanksgiving celebration, marking her first since initiating divorce proceedings from her separated spouse, Keith Urban.
“Immense gratitude,” the 58-year-old actress posted on her Instagram Story on Friday, November 28, accompanying an image of herself and several others participating in what seemed to be a “Turkey Trot” event.
The photograph displayed Kidman alongside Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, her children with Urban. (Kidman also has a 32-year-old daughter, Bella, and a 30-year-old son, Connor, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.)
The picture also included the actress’s sister Antonia Kidman and her husband, Craig Marran, with their children. Nicole and her companions were dressed in sportswear and coordinated turkey-patterned T-shirts from the gathering, bearing the inscription “Boulevard Bolt 2025.”
Nicole Kidman Makes First Public Appearance Following Keith Urban Separation
Previously this year, Us Weekly verified that Nicole and Urban ended their nearly twenty-year marriage. The actress from Practical Magic formally initiated divorce proceedings in September, stating irreconcilable differences as the grounds for the dissolution. Documents secured by Us revealed that Nicole, at that point, presented a proposed custody arrangement, a child financial support plan, and an order for a “parenting seminar.”
This custody proposal sought to designate Nicole as the “primary residential parent” for Sunday and Faith. Furthermore, it suggested that the couple’s daughters reside with their mother for 306 days annually and with their father for 59 days, encompassing alternate weekends.
Subsequent to the announcement of their separation, Nicole spoke about navigating various significant life transitions.
“It’s comforting to understand that regardless of how agonizing, challenging, or crushing an experience may be, a path forward exists,” she remarked in an October discussion with Harper’s Bazaar. “You must confront it emotionally. You cannot suppress it. You will have to feel it, and at moments, it will seem overwhelming. You will feel shattered, but by proceeding gently and gradually — a process that can consume considerable time — it will eventually subside.”
Nicole further noted that the “most valuable aspect” of enduring difficult life situations was the wisdom acquired through them.
“Thus, one might think, ‘Ah, I’ve encountered this previously. I now possess the skills to manage it,’ ” she elaborated. “Alternatively, ‘Perhaps I haven’t been in this exact situation, but I’ve gone through something comparable, and I am confident I will overcome it.’ ”
An insider revealed exclusively to Us in October that the separation had been “imminent for a while.”
“Keith has progressed emotionally and communicated his position candidly with Nicole,” the source clarified. “They had gradually drifted apart over time, and ultimately, the choice to part ways was met with more acceptance than astonishment.”
Earlier in the current month, the Academy Award recipient provided an insight into her emotional state concerning her continuing divorce during a conversation with Ariana Grande for Interview magazine.

“I’m managing,” Nicole replied when Grande, 32, inquired about her well-being.
Further into the discussion, Nicole mentioned that her experience filming Practical Magic 2 in London during the summer, collaborating with fellow actresses Sandra Bullock, Maisie Williams, and Joey King, was exceptionally positive, and she spoke enthusiastically about her connection with these women.
“My bond with all those women is incredibly strong, so I felt secure and cherished,” she clarified. “It provided an immensely safe environment.”
