A trusted source has exclusively informed Us Weekly that the end of Nina Dobrev and Shaun White's engagement was not due to unfaithfulness.
An individual close to the now-separated pair stated, "No acts of betrayal occurred at any point during their five-and-a-half-year romance."

"They displayed immense loyalty to one another," the insider revealed to Us, adding, "Any online rumors suggesting otherwise are baseless."
Nina Dobrev Seen Without Engagement Ring Just Four Days Before Shaun White Split Announcement
Us Weekly has reached out to both Dobrev and White for their comments.
Shortly after the news broke on Thursday, September 11, confirming that Dobrev and White had called off their engagement, the Vampire Diaries actress garnered attention for a TikTok video that resurfaced.
Some fans interpreted the video, originally posted on September 5, as a subtle hint at troubles between Dobrev and White.
In the clip, Dobrev lip-synced, "How do you sleep at night knowing people don’t like you? With no underwear, in case they want to kiss my ass."
The enigmatic social media post continued with what appeared to be references to a relationship facing difficulties.
"What’s your advice for women trying to fix their man?" the audio questioned. "Listen, Bob the Builder, he’s got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew."
A Look Back at the Longest Celebrity Engagements
Dobrev offered no further explanation, yet just one day prior, she had posted several Instagram photos from her summer travels, many of which featured White.
The actress first sparked romance rumors with White in February 2020 when fans observed them sharing similar photos from a trip to South Africa. Us confirmed in April of that year that Dobrev and White were an item.
Dobrev and the Olympic snowboarder publicly announced their relationship in May 2020. The following year, White exclusively shared with Us how they commemorated their first anniversary.
"I wished to recreate our initial date, but every venue was closed," he explained in June 2021. "I managed to persuade the owner of the establishment to open just for us. It was actually quite enjoyable to have the entire place to ourselves."

Three years later, White proposed to Dobrev in October 2024. "Nina was completely taken by surprise, and they are both incredibly joyful," a source disclosed to Us at the time, noting the proposal occurred in New York City.
Over the subsequent ten months, Dobrev and White frequently documented their romance on social media, including their international travels.
Days before their separation, Dobrev shared Instagram photos on September 5 depicting the couple in Greece. Earlier in the summer, they spent time in Spain celebrating the wedding of Vampire Diaries’ Michael Trevino and Bregji Heinen.
Before their breakup, Dobrev indicated that she and White were steadily moving towards marriage. "When you’re getting married and building a house in the same year," she captioned a July TikTok video featuring her in an unfinished property.
"How much do we have left?" Dobrev lip-synced in the clip. "40 bucks," White humorously mouthed in response.
