It appeared that Nina Dobrev chose her Halloween attire as a playful jab regarding her recent split from ex-fiancé Shaun White.
The 36-year-old star of Vampire Diaries shared photos of her humorous Halloween ensemble on Saturday, November 1, showing herself transformed into Jennifer Tilly’s character Tiffany from the 1998 cult horror film Bride of Chucky. Dobrev’s portrayal of her Bride of Chucky character was elaborate, featuring a temporary chest tattoo identical to the film’s — Chucky’s name emblazoned above a pierced heart.
As she socialized with companions, Dobrev was seen clutching a small doll representing Tiffany’s significant other, Chucky. A particular image featured the Chucky doll discarded, lying solitary and vulnerable on a table.
Dobrev’s choice of costume could be interpreted as a discreet dig at her former fiancé, given that White — much like the character Chucky — possesses distinctive red hair.
Reports surfaced in September confirming that Dobrev and White, 39, had abruptly called off their engagement following a five-year relationship.
