Nina Dobrev's Viral TikTok Stirring Engagement Split Speculation
A recent TikTok clip from Nina Dobrev has viewers speculating if she's subtly addressing her called-off engagement to Shaun White.
In a video posted on Thursday, November 13, Dobrev, aged 36, mouthed the words “If you want it, take it, I should have said it before” from Ariana Grande’s “Break Free,” accompanied by an assertive middle finger gesture.
While mouthing “Tried to hide it, fake it, I can’t pretend anymore,” the actress lowered her middle finger to reveal her unadorned ring finger.
Dobrev and White, 39, had become engaged in October 2024 following a four-year relationship. Us magazine verified in September that the couple had ended their engagement.

Although neither the former Vampire Diaries star nor White has publicly addressed the reasons for their breakup, admirers have speculated that Dobrev’s recent Thursday post was a subtle jab at the Olympic athlete.

A third TikTok user posted, “The transition from the middle finger to the ring finger is legendary.”

Dobrev, on her side, has not explained the intention behind her TikTok post, although an insider previously informed Us Weekly of her emotional state following the separation.
“Nina is heartbroken,” an anonymous source shared with Us in September. “They had just begun making wedding arrangements, and plans were actively developing.”
The insider also stated that Dobrev found comfort and “support from her dearest female friends” in the wake of the breakup.
Conversely, a different source informed Us that unfaithfulness was not a factor in the dissolution of their relationship.

He further commented, “My initial Olympic competition took place in Italy, so returning there evokes a flood of recollections. It should be enjoyable.”
Prior to their engagement being dissolved, Dobrev had spoken openly about her intentions for marriage with White.
“I genuinely wish to savor this period and avoid accelerating the process,” Dobrev conveyed to E!
