Offset Faces Over $2.3 Million in Tax Debt Amidst Tumultuous Divorce from Cardi B
Offset, the estranged husband of Cardi B, has received another substantial financial claim, pushing his outstanding tax obligations beyond $2.3 million, as exclusively revealed by Us Weekly.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officially placed a federal tax lien against Offset, whose legal name is Kiari Cephus, on October 15.
The federal body asserts that the musical artist owes $486,426.35 in taxes for the year 2023, which predates his separation from the 33-year-old "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker.
This latest charge follows several months after the IRS issued a different lien against Offset, also 33, on April 3, 2024. That particular document alleged the musician had an outstanding debt of $1,575,266.73 for the 2022 tax year.

The Georgia Department of Revenue initiated a tax lien on March 12, citing an alleged $292,000 debt from Offset for 2021. The department stated that while the initial tax amount was $167,916, the total obligation increased due to accumulated interest ($53,000), imposed penalties ($40,000), collection expenses ($33,000), and other associated charges.
According to public documentation, neither the IRS nor the Georgia Department of Revenue has discharged these liens to date.
Collectively, the sum of these three tax claims amounts to $2,353,692.
Furthermore, as Us previously disclosed, Offset is contesting a $232,000 judgment awarded against him stemming from an alleged altercation at a Florida adult entertainment venue.
Leamsy Izquierdo and Humberto Crespo, who claimed the former Migos artist assaulted them at the club in January 2021, submitted legal papers in Georgia to begin the recovery process for the awarded funds.
Izquierdo and Crespo assert they were present at the adult establishment concurrently with Offset and his spouse at the time, Cardi.
The lawsuit alleged that Cardi was doused with champagne by an individual among the attendees. Izquierdo and Crespo stated that Offset then entered the crowd and assaulted them following this occurrence.
The supposed victims stated that the "Bad and Boujee" rapper hit them on their face, head, and torso. Both individuals asserted they required medical care and suffered lasting harm.

Towards the end of 2024, a judge in Miami approved the purported victims' petition for a default judgment. In April, Offset submitted court documents requesting the judgment be nullified, arguing he was never properly served with the legal papers.
A court session for this matter is scheduled for February 2026.
As Us earlier shared, Cardi publicly addressed her ongoing divorce from Offset on September 22 during a discussion on X.
“My continued marital status is solely because someone expects me to cover their tax obligations,” she asserted. “Curious for the scoop? My only path to dissolve this marriage is to pay someone else's taxes, despite diligently paying my own, and surrender one of my assets. I intend to contest this; I will fight for that. This arrangement has nothing to do with affection.”
Cardi B Refutes Claims Offset Is Unhelpful Amidst Divorce Proceedings
“I refuse to let my life be dictated by a contract that essentially keeps me married because someone desires to extort millions of dollars from me to facilitate my exit,” Cardi further stated. “Consequently, this is my current life struggle. … You all wish for me to remarry and have another child and so forth. Currently, I am prioritizing actions that bring me joy. I handled things correctly the initial time around.”
Cardi initiated divorce proceedings against Offset in July 2024, concluding their seven-year union.
In a September conversation with Gayle King, Cardi responded to inquiries concerning Offset. She commented, “I merely wish he exhibited improved character. However, circumstances are as they stand. Strive to be a superior individual for your offspring.”
Cardi and Offset are parents to three children: Kulture Kiari Cephus, age 7; Wave Set Cephus, age 4; and Blossom Belle, who is 12 months old. She revealed on September 17 that she is anticipating her fourth child, her first with her boyfriend, NFL star Stefon Diggs.
