Olivia Flowers Shares Life Lessons After Calling Off Wedding to Alex Williams
Former Southern Charm personality Olivia Flowers offers insights into her life following the cancellation of her wedding to fiancé Alex Williams.
"While November wasn't precisely what I envisioned... it remained a cherished time, thanks to these wonderful individuals," the 33-year-old Flowers posted on Instagram on Wednesday, December 3, accompanying a collection of images spanning roughly the previous month.
She additionally highlighted several key "lessons" from the last month, such as the crucial realization that a "support system is everything" and the importance of being able to "take a moment for yourself."
These pieces of advice subtly referenced her ongoing romantic situation, stating, "It's possible to cancel a wedding without ending the relationship," and also, "Processing Registry returns helps develop resilience."

The Instagram update featured a slideshow of pictures and clips showcasing Halloween celebrations, elaborate dining experiences, scenic sunsets, social evenings with friends, and what appeared to be a poignant group embrace.
Williams was also visible within Flowers' carousel. One image depicted him smiling at the helm of a boat; another captured the duo seemingly enjoying an evening walk, with Williams' hand tenderly placed on Flowers' neck.
Admirers of the reality personality promptly flooded the comments section of her update, expressing solidarity with the candid revelation.
"Commendations for possessing the bravery to live genuinely," one commenter stated, while another remarked, "It's preferable to cancel it now than face divorce later — believe me. I regret not having that courage." A third user praised, "You are remarkable and truly motivating. Thank you for expressing yourself so openly."
Flowers and Williams, 35, previously disclosed in October their decision to call off their upcoming marriage, which followed their engagement a year earlier.
"Following extensive deliberation and numerous candid discussions, Olivia and her fiancé Alex have reached the challenging conclusion to not proceed with their wedding," stated a message released through Cabine Creative and Flowers' Instagram. "This choice was not taken without serious consideration, but rather stems from mutual regard and affection."
The announcement clarified that the cancellation of the wedding was not "initially foreseen" by either Flowers or Williams, but affirmed that the couple felt "deeply thankful for the affection and encouragement from their friends and family" and intended to "uphold their commitment to each other with heightened understanding, resilience, and gratitude for staying true to oneself."
Having first encountered each other at a wedding in October 2023, Flowers later disclosed that Williams had formally proposed marriage.
"'Engagement pictures are cliché.' — Me... just last week," she wrote as a caption for a set of Instagram photographs from the October 2024 proposal. "It was flawless. Thank you everyone for this incredible PROPOSAL... REALLY?! I adore you, particularly you, Alexander."
She subsequently shared with Us Weekly in an exclusive interview that orchestrating the wedding felt "daunting."
"We're simply lingering in the joy of engagement for the moment," she admitted back then, further noting that the pair had "merely touched upon" the extensive tasks ahead.

Before her relationship with Kroll, Flowers was romantically involved with her Southern Charm castmate Austen Kroll. She became part of the Bravo show's ensemble for season 8, and their separation became a central theme of season 9. She did not reappear for season 10, suggesting at the time that her departure wasn't solely her choice, but rather influenced by a desire to keep her relationship private.
"I'm in a new relationship, and I'm pursuing a different direction," she stated during a July 2024 installment of the "Scheananigans with Scheana Shay" podcast. "However, I received a call from the production company a few weeks prior to filming. It was essentially posing inquiries such as, 'You don't appear to be in Charleston very often.'"
