Olympic Skater Oksana Baiul Finalizes Divorce, Relocates to Las Vegas

Oksana Baiul and Carlo Farina were wed 13 years prior to their divorce — and a dispute over custody of their 11-year-old daughter Sophia — became a prominent news story.

Us Weekly exclusively reported on January 5, 2026, that Farina received sole custody of Sophia after he and Baiul informed the court they had reached a custody arrangement as part of their divorce settlement. He and Sophia were permitted to relocate to Las Vegas, with Baiul receiving a 2020 Mercedes from her former spouse after she “moves to Nevada.”

Baiul — who secured the Olympic gold medal in figure skating for Ukraine in 1994 — revealed her and Farina’s separation in the summer of 2025, although Farina later stated the couple actually ended their relationship in 2022.

According to court documents obtained by Us, neither Farina nor Baiul are obligated to provide child or spousal support. Farina agreed to waive $194,000 in loans his business extended to Baiul, and the former couple will divide $108,000 held in an investment account.

Us confirmed earlier this month that Farina was granted primary custody of his and Baiul’s daughter and was authorized to move permanently from Louisiana to Las Vegas.

Baiul has also seemingly relocated to Sin City, according to her social media posts, which frequently feature her skating in Vegas Golden Knights hockey gear and instructing at their facility.
