Pete Davidson Sheds Ink, Embraces New Chapter as Fatherhood Nears
Pete Davidson stands firm on his choice to remove most of his body art.
“It's an extensive undertaking, but it's absolutely worthwhile for me since I dislike my tattoos and have evolved significantly from the person I was when I acquired them,” Davidson, 31, revealed exclusively to Us Weekly at the launch event for the new Amazon Alexa+. “Looking at myself now, I just perceive, well, regrettable choices from a time when I hadn't fully matured.”
It's important to note, the Saturday Night Live alumnus holds no negative view of tattoos in general.
“I know individuals with genuinely impressive designs,” he clarified. “It's merely that mine are, quite frankly, foolish, save for a select five I intend to retain.”

In 2021, Davidson initially announced his intention to have most of his tattoos erased — a procedure known for being arduous, costly, and uncomfortable. Nevertheless, in August, the comedian stated that his homage to Hillary Clinton on his leg would be among those he keeps.
Despite being only 30 percent complete with the removal, Davidson had previously disclosed that he has invested close to $200,000 into the endeavor thus far.
“It's a marathon, not a sprint. To anyone considering it, be aware that it will require a significant time commitment,” Davidson clarified. “That's challenging, particularly for someone in comedy like myself. Comedy offers immediate feedback, doesn't it? You deliver a punchline and instantly know if it lands. But if you're committed, it genuinely pays off. My arms are nearly spotless, and I can comfortably wear a T-shirt. It's a pleasant change.”
When questioned about any shift in how he's perceived with fewer tattoos visible, Davidson responded that he hasn't observed a significant alteration in treatment.
Concurrently, he recognized the extensive personal efforts he has undertaken to improve his mental well-being, leading him to become a better individual.
“I've dedicated myself to personal growth and my mental health, and I believe the results are evident,” he remarked. “It's visible, and others are noticing it. Consequently, the general atmosphere around me has been quite optimistic recently.”
Davidson — who is presently awaiting the arrival of his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt — further commented with a chuckle, “I'm simply profoundly thankful following a chaotic decade. I'm genuinely, genuinely grateful, yet I also bear in mind how easily things could revert. Thus, I'm approaching it with caution, but I'm appreciative nonetheless.”
Prior to embracing fatherhood, Davidson expresses enthusiasm about renewing his partnership with Amazon as the company introduces Alexa+, characterized as being more intelligent, more interactive, and even more spirited than its original version.

“It offers dependable consistency in a world — particularly now — where everything progresses so rapidly, and it's quite comforting to have something perpetually available that you can depend on,” Davidson elaborated regarding Alexa+. “Since I'm not on social media, I consistently query it, ‘What's the most significant news I should be aware of?’ And I mean, genuinely. … I appreciate the convenience of asking, ‘What's the forecast? Which film is currently popular?’ Or simply topics I don't need to consult my phone for. It has proven quite beneficial.”
While Davidson hesitates to inquire if Alexa recognizes an actor named Pete Davidson, he openly asks the device for reassurance about future outcomes.
“I'll ask, ‘Will everything turn out alright?’ And she responds, ‘Indeed, everything will be perfectly fine,’” he quipped. “It's advantageous for someone who seeks comfort and grapples with insecurity, because for questions you might prefer not to pose to friends or a significant other, you can simply consult Alexa.”
