Pink Rings in 2026 from Hospital Bed, Announces Neck Surgery
Pink is offering a look into how she marked the start of 2026 – from a hospital bed.
“I want to wish Happy New Year’s to everyone. I am so pleased to say goodbye to the snake year and welcome in the horse,” she wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, December 31, alongside a selfie taken from her hospital room. “I am leaving behind all of my pain in 2025. This year was challenging for all of us and it spanned from completely devastating to mildly irritating.”
The 46-year-old singer noted that there was still “so much beauty” to be discovered in the difficult moments she experienced throughout the year.
“And I got to wake up each day and get out of bed and go about my business. The business of cherishing my children and helping them to pursue their ambitions. Showing them that life is an adventure or nothing at all. Loving and laughing, cooking and dancing, crying and screaming, forgiving and apologizing, and all the rest of our beautiful messiness. So much beauty within it all,” she continued. “So many more good people in the world than bad. I said farewell to incredibly important people, and I said hello to new ones. I’ve achieved dreams this year, as well as nightmares.”
Pink's Health Challenges Over the Years: New Year's Hospital Stay and More
As she looks ahead to 2026, Pink is “giving respect to” and “paying attention to” what her body requires.
“It may not be a cosmetic procedure, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck. A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this body that I have and use it for all it’s worth,” the musician wrote. “Rock ‘n’ roll is a demanding profession. And as I sit here by myself on New Year’s Eve in a hospital room while my family is happily snowboarding- I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the decision that I have made.”
Pink said she hopes to lead with love in the new year. “I will strive this year to help protect the choices of others to make for themselves and their families and this very pursuit of happiness,” she added. “Let’s do better for ourselves and for others. Let’s not be afraid to care for ourselves and others. I choose joy and I leave behind the pain. I’m going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones. And I’m going to fight against the fading of the light. I’m going to reclaim my wild spirit. And I’m going to continue searching for the light, even as I experience the darkness.”
The lengthy message ended on a hopeful note, with Pink writing, “Happy new year and may you experience more joy than sorrow, more sunshine than rain, more love than hatred. Let’s shed that old snake skin. And find our horsepower.”
Pink Through the Years: From ‘Lady Marmalade’ to Mother of 2
In an upload of his own, Pink’s husband, Carey Hart, shared a glimpse at how the rest of the family kicked off the new year. Hart, 50, posed alongside daughter Willow, 14, and son Jameson, 9, on a snowy mountain in snowboarding gear.
“So fun getting runs in w/ the kids!” he captioned the pic. “Willz is performing well, and got into some steep powder runs. Jamo is working through the early stages of snowboard frustration. But made a lot of progress, and has a positive attitude about it. Wonderful time up @mammothmountain.”
Hart added, “Thanks @arborsnowboarding @eddiewall for assisting the kids and I! I hope everyone has a safe, happy, and healthy NYE & 2026. We are eating frozen taquitos, playing video games, and about to celebrate an east coast new years.”
Carey Hart Thanks Wife Pink After ‘Severing Small Intestine From Colon’
Wednesday’s update is far from the first time Pink has dealt with her health. In 2018, she was forced to cancel several concerts in Australia after being hospitalized for a gastric virus. Two years later, she battled COVID with her son and fractured her ankle. She later opened up about gaining weight during the pandemic shutdown.
“Having breaks is good for my voice. Not so good for the body,” Pink told Variety in 2023. “Especially during COVID — I gained 36 lbs. All I did was make sourdough and then eat the sourdough. And then I had not just the hip surgery but double disc replacement in my neck.”
Pink said she felt like a “bionic woman” after recovering — and was ready to hit the road on tour once again. “I’ve lost those 36 pounds, and I am stronger than I’ve ever been in my life,” she added. “And I’m ready to go, and I’m ready to get out of here. I’ve been home way too long.”
