Porsha Williams Confirms Relationship With Girlfriend Sway McKinney on Instagram

The Real Housewives of Atlanta personality Porsha Williams has officially confirmed her relationship with girlfriend Patrice “Sway” McKinney on Instagram.

Williams, 44, utilized Instagram on Friday, November 28, to upload a series of pictures and videos showcasing Sway, in celebration of her birthday. One image depicted Sway embracing Williams from behind as the reality television star threw her head back in laughter, while another showed the duo locked in a tender hug with Sway kissing Williams on the cheek. A third photograph captured Sway and Williams posing for a selfie.

“🎉Happiest Birthday @sway_thepro Hope this year continues to bring you everything you want and more! 🥂🍾 Can’t wait to act up Saturday!” Williams wrote as the caption for the post.

Sway replied, “Thank you P! I appreciate you. 🫶🏽.”

Admirers and friends lauded the couple for making their relationship public on social media.

Williams first revealed she was dating a woman in early October at New York City’s CultureCon event. At that time, she informed the audience that she was “talking to” two individuals, one male and one female.

“The people who I’m talking to now … it’s just two, I narrowed it down to two, and he is nice and she is nice,” she explained.

Williams continued, “I really just wanted to make sure that these were normal people. And what I talked to my therapist the other day was, I’m having a hard time opening up because they’re not narcissists and guess what narcissists do? They … mirror you, and these people are not, they’re challenging you, they’re asking me questions, they’re not letting me walk over them.”

Williams’s involvement with Sway marks her inaugural public relationship following her divorce from husband Simon Guobadia. The Bravolebrity initiated divorce proceedings against the executive producer in February, after 15 months of marriage. While the separation became public just days after Us Weekly confirmed Guobadia, 61, had been detained by ICE, a source informed People at the time that their split was unconnected to the executive producer’s citizenship status.

Us confirmed that the Nigerian native was repatriated to his home country in June subsequent to several months in detention. His divorce from Williams was finalized that very month.

Guobadia later officially appealed their initial divorce judgment, which awarded Williams spousal support and various other assets. However, a judge rejected the appeal, as Us exclusively reported in September.

During a March installment of RHOA, Williams discussed her evolving relationship with Guobadia.

“One of my joys was getting up in the morning and just thinking about what I could do to make [Simon] happy, and I genuinely felt he was the same way about me,” Williams stated in a confessional. “I would have rode to the end of the world with this man, but the person I’m now mourning, he was not real.”
