Porsha Williams Reveals New Relationship Status Post-Divorce and Embraces Vulnerability
Porsha Williams, known for her role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has shared that she is now in a relationship with a woman, following the conclusion of her divorce from Simon Guobadia.
During her participation at CultureCon in New York City, held on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5, Williams, age 44, openly talked about two recent romantic interests.
Social media on Sunday featured clips from fans showcasing her presence, where Williams – who initiated divorce proceedings against Guobadia in February following a 15-month marriage – informed attendees, “The individuals I’m currently seeing … are just two, I’ve narrowed it to two, and he’s pleasant, and she’s pleasant.”
This frank revelation elicited surprised reactions from the audience, which Williams dismissed with a laugh before proceeding. “My main goal was to confirm that these were ordinary individuals,” she stated. “And my recent discussion with my therapist centered on my difficulty in becoming vulnerable because they aren’t narcissists, and what do narcissists typically do? They … reflect your persona, and these individuals are different; they’re pushing me, they’re questioning me, they’re not allowing me to dominate them.”

The separation of Williams and Guobadia, aged 61, became public on February 23; at that time, a source informed People that their breakup had no connection to issues stemming from Guobadia’s immigration standing. (Us Weekly verified on February 21 that Guobadia had been held by ICE.)

In a March confession segment aired on RHOA, Williams discussed the swift transformation of her relationship with Guobadia during their short marriage. “A great pleasure of mine was waking up and considering how I could bring joy to [Simon], and I truly believed he felt the same about me,” Porsha shared with the camera during her confession then. “I would have gone to the ends of the earth for this man, but the individual I’m grieving now, he wasn’t authentic.”

The ex-pair’s interactions became increasingly intricate in the period after their split, as Us exclusively disclosed in July that Guobadia initiated a federal lawsuit against Williams, seeking $500,000 in damages for claimed “reputation, emotional distress and humiliation.” Williams refuted these claims. This legal dispute remains ongoing.
Guobadia additionally lodged a formal appeal against their original divorce ruling, which had granted Williams alimony and several assets.
The previous month, Williams marked her former spouse’s defeat in the divorce judgment appeal, a fact verified by Us on September 9. On the same day, she also posted the phrase “It’s over” on Instagram, offering no additional context, though a video of her boarding a private aircraft was accompanied by the caption, “Free.”
During CultureCon, Williams considered her past conduct in relationships, indicating her readiness to alter her approach to achieve future contentment. “I must understand that if you desire a different outcome, you yourself must also change,” she informed the assembly. “I need to become a little less rigid.”
