Princess Anne reveals her grandchildren's secret passion for cooking
Princess Anne recently provided a rare insight into the activities of her grandchildren.
During her visit to the Naval Children’s Charity in Portsmouth on Wednesday, September 24, Her Royal Highness, 75 years old, received various gifts, among which was an apron designed for children.
“Indeed, I doubt this would be my size,” Anne remarked, as reported by Hello! “However, it would likely be perfect for my grandchildren, who are all quite keen on cooking.”
Princess Anne — the sole daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II — is the mother of Peter, 47, and Zara, 44, both from her previous marriage to Mark Phillips. Their union lasted from 1973 until 1992. In the very year of her divorce from Phillips, Anne exchanged vows with her current spouse, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Peter, Anne's son, is father to Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13, from his previous marriage to Autumn Kelly. (Kelly, 47, announced their separation in 2020, and their divorce was finalized the following year.)
Meanwhile, Anne's daughter, Zara, married rugby union star Mike Tindall, and together they have three children: Mia, 11, Lena, 7, and their son Lucas, 3.
Although Peter is King Charles III's nephew, he does not hold a royal title, a decision made jointly by Anne and Phillips regarding their children's upbringing.
“Our upbringing consistently reinforced the idea that we would need to work,” Peter stated in the 2020 documentary Anne: The Princess Royal at 70. “We knew we would have to venture out and … support ourselves financially, irrespective of our grandmother's or mother's identity.”
A Glimpse into Peter Phillips' Family Life with His Two Daughters
Recalling his childhood at Anne’s Gloucestershire residence, Gatcombe Park, Peter mentioned that his family frequently spends time there with his mother.
“She enjoys watching them ride, hosting them for Sunday meals, and accompanying them on strolls,” he revealed. “Engaging in all the activities we experienced as children.”
Subsequent to his separation from Kelly, Peter revealed his engagement to Harriet Sperling this August.
“Mr. Peter Phillips, son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms. Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr. Rupert Sanders and Mrs. Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today formally announced their engagement,” stated a press release issued to Hello! Magazine then. “Both families received simultaneous notification of the announcement and expressed great joy at the wonderful news of their engagement.”
The announcement further indicated that Charles, 76, along with Queen Camilla, and Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, had been “apprised of the news,” and concluded, “A wedding date has not yet been formally established.”
