Rachel Lindsay's Divorce Payments Are Nearing an End, Signaling a Fresh Start
Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay is eagerly anticipating the end of her obligation to provide financial support to her ex-husband, Bryan Abasolo.
“I’ve navigated a great deal in the past two years. 2024 was certainly a significant year [and] early 2025 marked the completion of my divorce,” Lindsay, 40, shared on the Wednesday, December 24, episode of Alexis Waters’ “Literally, Not OK” podcast. “However, I am still required to make payments.”
Lindsay and Abasolo, 45, separated in late 2023 and officially concluded their divorce proceedings in January 2025. According to the divorce agreement, Lindsay was mandated to pay Abasolo $13,257 each month as temporary spousal support, along with $15,000 for his legal representation, and an additional $5,000 for the services of a forensic financial expert.
“[The] final payment is approaching soon,” she playfully remarked on Wednesday, further elaborating on the lessons she’s gained from her divorce. “I tend to be a very controlling person, and the lesson I’ve learned is that circumstances will be beyond our control, and it’s crucial to trust the process.”

Lindsay continued, “When I truly relinquish control and allow events to unfold naturally, which is quite challenging for me, they do. … I strive to remember this daily, but I particularly observed it come to fruition in 2025 with various aspects of my life.”
Lindsay and Abasolo initially met on her season 13 of The Bachelorette and became engaged during the season finale. The couple subsequently married in 2019, four years before their separation.
“We didn’t dedicate enough quality time to each other,” Abasolo recalled during a July 2024 interview with divorce coach Rene Garcia. “In my view, we primarily observed what the other person was doing in the relationship, largely through Instagram, despite living under the same roof.”
He added at the time, “I was contemplating divorce because I had previously requested a separation a few months prior. I was sleeping in a separate bedroom. We were already participating in marriage counseling.”
By the time Abasolo filed for divorce, he requested financial assistance from Lindsay due to their perceived income disparities.

“I have concerns about individuals who exploit the system,” Lindsay, a former attorney, asserted on an April episode of her “Higher Learning” podcast. “The reason I stated that my former spouse doesn’t deserve alimony is because we both made sacrifices during the marriage, and I shouldn’t be penalized for achieving success during our time together while he did not. I’m genuinely weary of the narrative that, ‘He is entitled to the money because he abandoned his career to support her.’ I’m simply going to say this, and I’m going to say this once — that’s not accurate.”
Abasolo worked as a chiropractor in Miami when he appeared on The Bachelorette. Lindsay, who was previously based in Texas, later relocated to California to pursue television hosting opportunities. They initially maintained a long-distance, bicoastal marriage before Abasolo eventually moved to Los Angeles permanently.
With the divorce finalized, they have each moved forward.
“I am dating,” Lindsay revealed on Waters’ podcast, hinting playfully that she has “found someone new.”
