Ray J Faces Lawsuit for Credit Card Debt Amidst Arrest for Alleged Threats Against Princess Love
Ray J is facing legal action claiming significant credit card arrears, a development that emerged just days prior to his apprehension for allegedly threatening his separated spouse, Princess Love, an exclusive report by Us Weekly confirms.
American Express initiated a lawsuit against Ray J, whose full name is Willie Norwood, and his enterprise Tronix Network on November 19, filing the complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to court documents, American Express asserted that Ray J, aged 44, and his company had an outstanding balance of $139,849.85 due to a contractual violation.
The credit card provider stated that Ray J ceased paying the card in May, leaving the substantial six-figure sum unpaid.
Tronix Network, a streaming service unveiled by Ray J in 2024, is associated with the artist. The vocalist behind One Wish has not yet addressed the legal proceedings.
As Us had earlier reported, Ray J was conducting a live broadcast from his residence on Thursday, November 27. He was seen reaching for and loading a firearm. Love, 41, entered his room to retrieve their child, prompting Ray J to shout at her. Throughout the live stream, Ray J alleged that his former partner was under the influence of alcohol.
Subsequently, an individual entered the room, and Ray J was heard exclaiming, “I’ll shoot the f out of you.” He escalated his threats, stating, “I’ll kill you.” Ray J further instructed those present, “Get out of my house before I shoot you right now. I got a gun on me.”
Sources within law enforcement informed TMZ that authorities were contacted around 4 a.m. regarding a potential domestic disturbance and threats at a residence in Porter Ranch, California. Responding officers apprehended Ray J at the scene. He secured his release by posting a bond of $50,000.
Within hours of his detention, Love publicly addressed the incident by sharing a video on her Instagram account.

Her caption for the post read, “Enough is enough.” Love asserted that she would never jeopardize her children's safety and mentioned that she has been a sole parent to them. She alleged that her former partner has been “terrorizing” females. She specifically accused Ray J of brandishing a firearm at her and an additional family member when she attempted to take the children from the residence.
Ray J uploaded his own Instagram video, subsequently removed, in which he defended both himself and his role as a parent. He expressed his affection for his offspring and maintained that he was not at fault in the circumstances leading to his arrest. He refuted claims of aiming a weapon at his former partner or harboring any intent to harm anyone.
