Remembering the Icons Lost in 2025
The entertainment world experienced profound loss as several iconic figures passed away during 2025.
The summer months saw the passing of notable individuals including Anne Burrell, Ozzy Osbourne, Hulk Hogan, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Brandon Blackstock.
October saw the passing of famed zoologist Jane Goodall, Diane Keaton, Grammy-winning R&B singer D’Angelo, and additional figures. The next month, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland passed away at age 24, and Oscar-nominated actress Pauline Collins died at age 85 after battling Parkinson’s disease.
The beginning of November marked the passing of actress Sally Kirkland, ex-ABC News correspondent Jim Avila, musician Gary “Mani” Mounfield, and frequent Prince collaborator Jellybean Johnson.
In December, we learned of the deaths of former So You Think You Can Dance contestant Donyelle Jones, Netflix’s Country Ever After personality Criscilla Anderson, and Grammy-nominated opera singer Jubilant Sykes. Additionally, Jeff Garcia, voice actor for Sheen Estevez in Jimmy Neutron, and Pulp Fiction actor Peter Greene, also passed away that month.
