RHOC Star's Partner Seeks Sole Custody Amidst Bitter Legal Battle With Ex
According to an exclusive report from Us Weekly, Travis Mullen, the partner of The Real Housewives of Orange County personality Gina Kirschenheiter, promptly sought legal intervention, requesting temporary exclusive custody of the three children he shares with his former spouse, Meghan Mullen.
On October 29, Travis, aged 40, who married Meghan in 2010 before their separation in 2016, submitted legal documents requesting an urgent court order regarding the custody of their three offspring: Presley, a daughter born in 2011; Bennett, another daughter born in 2014; and Joseph, a son born in 2016.
Travis requested the termination of Meghan's joint legal and physical custody rights, a setup that had been active since November 2021. He suggested that her access to the children be limited to supervised visits. He asserted that Meghan had prevented him from seeing one of their children since September 29.
He stated, “I have contacted local law enforcement to uphold the existing order, but their assistance has been inadequate. I am worried about [the son’s well-being] and believe the 'system' has entirely let him down.”
“This conduct by [Meghan] has been ongoing for more than a year, and I feel that no one is standing up [for his son]. I require the court's help to guarantee that [his son’s] requirements are fulfilled, and that my son and I maintain a strong and affectionate bond.”
He alleged that Meghan had repeatedly neglected to take one of their children to school.
In his submitted documents, Travis asserted that school authorities had warned they would refer the issue to the District Attorney if the situation did not improve.
Travis had previously petitioned the court for sole custody in March, but his urgent plea was rejected. Following the denial of his earlier request, Travis stated he reached an agreement with Meghan for a child custody expert to conduct an assessment to be presented to the court.
On Thursday, October 30, Meghan submitted her own court documents to challenge Travis’ petition. She commented, “Travis persistently abuses the legal system to achieve his desired outcome.”
“His [court] submissions seem designed to penalize and dominate me, rather than to safeguard the children. Travis is employing the family court apparatus as an instrument of manipulative control and vengeance,” Meghan further stated. “This amounts to more than just litigation abuse.”

She asserted that the son at the center of the dispute opted not to spend time with Travis and denied obstructing any communication. Meghan stated she is communicating with their child’s school regarding the absences.
Meghan further contended that Travis prevents the children from telephoning her during her designated calling periods.
“The children are subjected to remarks … concerning their personal affairs because of Travis’ public media engagements,” Meghan alleged.

In a distinct legal submission, Travis refuted Meghan’s accusations. He insisted that he was not attempting to manipulate her but was “profoundly worried” about their child. He denied her assertions that he had interfered with her social media profiles or that their children feared him.
“If [Meghan] genuinely thought any of our children were scared of me, why has she not pursued emergency injunctions?” Travis questioned. “Why does she permit our two eldest children to reside with me during my designated custody periods? The reality is that none of [Meghan’s] claims hold any truth.”
Travis refuted the accusation that he prevented their children from communicating with their mother. “This is yet another unsubstantiated claim put forth by [Meghan]. It was, in fact, [Meghan] who would deny me telephone communication with the children. Moreover, I have never disciplined the children for wishing to speak to their mother, nor have I ever forbidden them from calling their mom.”
Concerning The Real Housewives of Orange County, Travis dismissed Meghan’s assertions that his involvement on the show had an impact on their children.
