RHOP Alum Mia Thornton Arrested for Felony Larceny in Atlanta

Former Real Housewives of Potomac personality Mia Thornton has reportedly been taken into custody on charges of felony larceny, as confirmed by Us Weekly.

The 40-year-old Thornton was apprehended in Atlanta on Wednesday, November 19, based on detention facility records reviewed by Us.

A press release from the Atlanta Police Department stated, “Law enforcement personnel at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport were dispatched to the Customs and Border Protection office in response to a report regarding a wanted individual.” The statement continued, “Officers identified the person as Ms. Mia Fields-Thornton, who was subject to an active City of Atlanta arrest warrant concerning a larceny allegation involving the purported theft of furniture.”

The official communication detailed that Thornton was then “apprehended without resistance” and conveyed to the Fulton County Jail for standard booking procedures.

Thornton has not yet issued a public statement concerning her apprehension. Us has contacted her representatives for a response.

A police document obtained by Us suggests that Thornton purportedly absconded with furniture valued at more than $11,000 from an Atlanta condominium she had leased, encompassing items such as radios, televisions, DVD players, and additional merchandise. Subsequently, in body camera footage, the former Bravo personality was seen tearfully acknowledging her awareness of an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

Thornton gained prominence for her role in RHOP spanning from its sixth to ninth seasons. She concluded her involvement with the franchise earlier this year.

In April, Thornton conveyed on Instagram, announcing her exit from the program, “Each new season heralds a fresh start, and I have information to impart.” She continued, “My family and I have elected to move to Atlanta, and consequently, I will not be featured on The Real Housewives of Potomac for the upcoming season.”

She further stated, “The preceding four seasons constituted a memorable odyssey, marked by personal development, valuable insights, and numerous extraordinary recollections. I extend my gratitude to Truly Original, Bravo, NBCUniversal, and Andy Cohen for their confidence in me and for providing a platform to narrate my experiences. To my fellow cast members: I appreciate the humor, the tutelage, and the indelible occasions. And to the devoted admirers, your affection and encouragement have been paramount to me. I shall forever cherish it.”

Thornton also expressed anticipation for her “subsequent phase,” which she described as being “replete with promising prospects.”

She concluded, “Significant developments are on the horizon. ‘I do not merely generate news; I forge history.’” She added, “Atlanta, prepare yourselves. The enterprise has broadened its scope.”

Thornton’s personal life involves her three offspring. She is a mother to Jeremiah, 9, and Juliana, 7, with her separated spouse Gordon Thornton. Additionally, Mia is the parent to her eldest son, Joshua, from an earlier association.

In a September 2023 declaration, Mia stated, “As with any marital union, ours has experienced its vicissitudes.” She elaborated, “Currently, Gordon and I are living apart; however, my family remains my paramount concern, and I am dedicated to ensuring their well-being by all means necessary. We request your consideration for our privacy and sufficient time to navigate these circumstances.”

Subsequent to her estrangement from Gordon, 71, Mia entered a relationship with radio personality Incognito, though they parted ways in December 2024.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in January, Mia explained, “Inc has diligently cultivated his professional standing and trajectory, having served two decades as a syndicated radio figure.” She continued, “He believes this particular media outlet does not complement his personal brand. I honor that perspective, and he will remain my closest confidant. … It is perfectly acceptable.”
