RHOP Stars Claim Eminem Is Playing Hardball Over Deposition Demands
According to an exclusive report from Us Weekly, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, known from The Real Housewives of Potomac, claim that Eminem is requesting preferential treatment concerning his upcoming deposition in their ongoing "Shady" legal dispute.
Legal papers were submitted on October 10 by Dixon, aged 46, and Bryant, 55, as part of their protracted legal dispute with the 53-year-old artist known as Slim Shady. (The reality television personalities sought to trademark their podcast, “Reasonably Shady,” in 2023. Eminem contested this application, arguing the name too closely resembled his well-known monikers, Slim Shady and Shady. The conflict between the trio has now extended beyond two years.)
In their submission, Dixon and Bryant detailed how the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the body supervising this case, instructed Eminem to provide a deposition. The reality figures allege that, despite this official directive, Eminem and his legal representatives have been evasive about setting a specific date.
According to Dixon and Bryant, Eminem’s legal counsel spent several weeks before confirming October 29 as the date for the artist to attend and answer questions concerning the specifics of the dispute. The rapper’s attorney communicated to the reality stars’ legal team, stating, “Securing our client's commitment for a deposition is quite challenging, and we advise you to seize the chance whenever it arises.”
The filing indicates that Dixon and Bryant contend Eminem’s attorney stated the rapper would be available from 2 p.m. and stipulated that the proceedings must conclude within two hours.
Dixon and Bryant remarked that Eminem’s legal representative “appears to suggest we ought to appreciate the chance to depose [Eminem] whenever he is free, even if for only 2 hours. [Eminem’s counsel's] inflexible stance demonstrates a lack of sincerity.” Dixon and Robyn raised concerns about the 2 p.m. commencement time, as their contractors assisting with the deposition adhere to standard working schedules.
The television personalities stated that Eminem’s attorney failed to offer any justification for the rapper’s inability to begin before 2 p.m.

“Moreover, [Eminem’s] legal team declined to consent to a brief extension for discovery,” the pair asserted. “[Eminem’s lawyer] has neither genuinely attempted to facilitate [Eminem’s] availability for a deposition nor provided valid reasons why [Eminem] cannot dedicate at least seven hours over a single day,” the document outlined.
Eminem submitted his counter-argument on November 11. His attorney contended that rather than collaborating to accommodate Eminem’s timetable, Dixon and Bryant prematurely lodged a formal complaint regarding the matter.

The rebuttal stated, “This situation occurred despite [Eminem's] offer to prolong the deposition as long as required that day to suit the later Eastern start time. [Dixon and Robyn's] unwillingness to cooperate and their determination to file a motion over merely a three-hour difference in start time indicates that [Dixon and Robyn's] request for [Eminem's] deposition is intended to cause undue annoyance.”
Eminem’s legal counsel affirmed that securing a court reporter to transcribe the deposition outside of typical operating hours was feasible. He asserted that Bryant and Dixon insisted Eminem appear at 11 a.m.
His attorney indicated that Eminem is prepared to attend a deposition at a “time that suits both parties, but as previously stated …. cannot commence prior to early afternoon Eastern time because of prior engagements linked to the production of new music.”
Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s long-standing manager, submitted a sworn statement within the motion. He explained, “[Eminem] is currently engaged in creating new music for several endeavors, necessitating his daily presence alongside the individuals listed below. Not only is it challenging and costly for him to be away from his studio during these periods, but it would also delay him on various contracts with specified completion dates.”
“The practical truth of [Eminem’s] timetable is that he must be present at his studio each morning to collaborate with those who depend on his input for new music creation. Should [Eminem] fail to show up at his studio in the mornings, it could lead to postponed meetings, a completely unproductive day for his personnel, and a substantial financial and temporal loss for [Eminem] and other involved parties.”
Rosenberg noted that the rapper’s “standard daily routine, including what was planned for October 29, involves dedicating time at his studio for music production and recording, which includes sessions with other collaborating artists and multiple studio engineers, requiring him to coordinate with their availability too.”
“With the ongoing music projects nearing their final stages, it is essential for [Eminem] to be in the studio throughout the upcoming month,” his manager explained. “He has commitments booked across November and December, rendering it exceptionally challenging and costly for him to participate in a deposition during November.”

A decision on this issue from the board is still pending. Andrea Evans, the legal counsel for Dixon and Bryant, informed Us, “Mathers initiated this trademark challenge and seems to be evading his obligation to undergo a deposition. Regulations permit his deposition for up to seven hours, so irrespective of his claimed lack of availability, he ought to make himself accessible for a lawsuit he himself brought forward. This strikes us as dishonest!”
Dixon commented on the dispute with Eminem during BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas. “He continues to act deceptively,” she stated. “We are persisting with the legal action. And we are contesting it. We fully expect to triumph, eventually.”
