Romy Reiner Marks Birthday Amid Family Tragedy and Legal Proceedings
Romy Reiner celebrated her 28th birthday amidst the tragic aftermath of the deaths of her parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
Romy’s birthday occurred on Saturday, December 27, approximately two weeks after her parents were discovered deceased.
According to images obtained by the Daily Mail, Romy marked her birthday surrounded by family and loved ones, including her boyfriend Alex Silberberg, at a coastal residence in Malibu, California.
Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that Romy made the unsettling discovery of her father’s body in her parents’ home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles on December 14. She went to check on them after they failed to open the house’s gate for a massage therapist who had a scheduled appointment.

According to the outlet, Romy’s roommate contacted emergency services after Romy found her dad’s body. Romy did not see her mother’s body in the house and only learned of Michele’s death when paramedics arrived.
Romy’s brother Nick Reiner was taken into custody and subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder on December 16. He has yet to formally respond to the charges and is scheduled to appear in court on January 7.
Despite earlier reports, a source informed The New York Times that Romy told the police that Nick, 32, “resided on the property as well” but “did not indicate to authorities that her brother might be involved in the crime.”
Romy and her older brother, Jake Reiner, released a statement on December 17 following accusations against their sibling regarding their parents’ deaths.

“Words cannot adequately express the profound grief we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something no one should ever have to endure,” the statement read. “They were not only our parents; they were our dearest friends.”
Jake, 34, and Romy added, “We are deeply appreciative of the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received, not only from family and friends but from people from all walks of life.”
As their brother faced criminal charges, Jake and Romy requested consideration from the public.
They concluded: “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the remarkable lives they lived and the love they shared.”

Several days later, a spokesperson for Jake and Romy issued a statement on Monday, December 22, stating that the siblings “remain thankful for the outpouring of affection and support they have received.” They also mentioned plans to “announce details about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date.”
After Nick’s alleged involvement in the case became public, a source spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about his and Romy’s relationship leading up to their parents’ deaths.
“Romy has been deeply traumatized by Nick’s behavior,” the insider told Us. “She has always been very close with her parents, and witnessing their constant distress over Nick has profoundly impacted her and the entire family.”
Just two weeks prior to her parents’ deaths, Romy posted images of herself and Rob swimming in the ocean on November 29, highlighting their strong paternal bond.
